to continue where we left off......

EllanVannin Sun 24-Feb-19 16:04:17

Perhaps you should start reading about the mistakes that have been made re. British Justice, and dispense with the rose-coloured specs while you're at it.

EllanVannin Sun 24-Feb-19 15:58:45

No I'm not describing myself at all Iam64. What a ridiculous question.

Jalima1108 Sun 24-Feb-19 15:20:03

Read his Wikipedia entry en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Letts it confirms essentially what I said in my post above
Who wrote the Wikipedia entry?
Perhaps his parents wrote it or someone sympathetic to him - it could tell us just what they want us to know.

He does come across as very foolish, however, is he not in prison being held by the Kurds? Shamima has not been imprisoned there so I wonder if they have information about him and what he has allegedly been doing.

Iam64 Sun 24-Feb-19 15:11:48

What on earth do you mean, people make up their own laws anyway. Are you describing yourself?!

EllanVannin Sun 24-Feb-19 13:55:04

Iam64 I have little or no confidence as it is with the law of this land as half the time people make up their own laws to suit anyway.

What's " low " about saying their own know them ? Haven't we all at some time said that our own families etc know us best ??

Mycatisahacker Sun 24-Feb-19 13:53:34

I thought there was a treason law? However it’s probably not fit for purpose and should be updated to deal with these savages. And they are savages EV I sgree.

GoneGirl

Anyone in this caliphate is a danger to their own and other children and any opportunity that occurs we should try and save children from their abuse and neglect.

Mycatisahacker Sun 24-Feb-19 13:45:53

oldwoman

Absolutely agree and no way.

Iam64 Sun 24-Feb-19 13:07:06

EllanVannin - why would any of us be persuaded to support the removal of citizenship because a father who left his wife and children to start another family in Bangkadesh, says he agrees that’s the right course of action.
There is ‘law’ to be made in response to Savid Javid’s decision. That much is obvious and whatever the outcome of the various court hearings that follow, at least we will be clearer about the legality, or otherwise, of breaching international law.
We wouldn’t want to become a dictatorship.
As for comments such as ‘their own’ know them - how low can you go?

Oldwoman70 Sun 24-Feb-19 11:53:53

I think her comment that she was OK with the atrocities carried out by ISIS is what has turned people against her. Whether she witnessed these things or not her complete lack of sympathy is worrying.

EllanVannin Sun 24-Feb-19 11:52:03

SB's father agrees with Sajid Javid that she shouldn't come back as 150 women who'd joined the fighters remain HERE at large. Happy days, eh ?

EllanVannin Sun 24-Feb-19 11:48:37

They're savages------say no more !

EllanVannin Sun 24-Feb-19 11:47:44

Anyone reading the newspapers ? British Special Forces found dozens of heads of Yazidi women found in dustbins.

What about their mental health ?? Never mind SB who didn't flinch anyway.

EllanVannin Sun 24-Feb-19 11:43:31

Oldwoman, I was nearly going to ask the same question some time ago and as far as I'm concerned my answer would be no.
Nor would I like her living next door to me, unlike others on here.

Gonegirl Sun 24-Feb-19 11:30:07

I believe there is no law of treason, although some in high places are suggesting there should be.

Gonegirl Sun 24-Feb-19 11:28:10

Can't see why not. So long as she had been under the proper surveillance for a length of time.

Oldwoman70 Sun 24-Feb-19 11:23:35

Can I ask the question I asked before - and no-one answered. Would you be happy for her to be anywhere near your children/grandchildren.

Mycatisahacker Sun 24-Feb-19 11:21:54

EV
I am not in favour of the death penalty although I hear you absolutely.

I want them all punished properly and deprived of their liberty to punish them and protect us. Also as an example.

Mycatisahacker Sun 24-Feb-19 11:19:23

trisher

The age of criminal responsibility in the UK is 10! She was 5 years older than that. She knew exactly what she was doing. It’s all gone tits up so she wants to stop.

She doesn’t fool me.

Chewbacca Sun 24-Feb-19 11:12:49

I wonder when it became OK to kill someone because the law says so?

Now might be a good time to ask SB that question trisher. As she quite clearly stated in her interview:

Interviwere Did you know what Islamic State were doing when you left for Syria? Because they had beheaded people. There were executions.

SB Yeah, I knew about those things and I was okay with it. Because, you know, I started becoming religious just before I left.

SB From what I heard, Islamically that is all allowed. So I was okay with it.

Interviewer ^You didn't question that?

SB ^No, not at all.^"

trisher Sun 24-Feb-19 11:04:32

Ah I knew there must be some death penalty supporters on here. I wonder when it became OK to kill someone because the law says so? If it's OK for the law to do that and you disagree with the organisation in power is it then OK for you to kill someone?

Chewbacca Sun 24-Feb-19 11:02:55

Had all those men other citizenship?

I don't know trisher but as I've done most of the research for you, you can now follow it up to conclude your query.

EllanVannin Sun 24-Feb-19 10:57:03

Mycat, it's the death penalty in many countries when you commit treason.
Only in this country are they allowed to breathe the same air as we do !

trisher Sun 24-Feb-19 10:56:13

Chewbacca Had all those men other citizenship? If they had not, I apologise, if they had they were treated illegally as has SB. It is illegal under international law to leave someone stateless. At present she has not Bangladeshi citizenship and they have said she will not be given it. So she is stateless.
She was 15 EV She was a child. She was illegally recruited by an armed organisation. She was as you have still not acknowledged a child soldier. Blaming one young woman living in a refugee camp for every atrocity committed by every terrorist may make you feel better but it does absolutely nothing to honour victims or to protect anyone in the future. Indeed it may radicalise others who will regard her as a victim of western oppression.

EllanVannin Sun 24-Feb-19 10:52:06

3 young girls, not-- " oh let's go to Ibiza and let our hair down, " instead--------" let's go and join the fighters in Syria ".

What sort of mentality is that ? It's not normal ! Their minds were already twisted before they even reached Syria.

Many criminals who are released from prison go on to reoffend----------just saying.

Mycatisahacker Sun 24-Feb-19 10:47:42

tricher

I agree they should all be treated exactly the same way. And all should be treated with regard to international law. We should update our treason laws and have isis as a prescribed group that is tig join you are automatically jailed for life.

That takes away the need for gathering evidence in a war zone for specific atrocities.

So you join them! You help them! You have committed treason so jail for life
