What's on your Bucket List?

I am lucky to have done quite a lot of things and most I have found to have been better in the dream than the reality. Today my greatest wish is to stay sober one day at a time.

These are not bucket lists, they are lifestyle choices!!
After a serious health scare 2 years ago for DH we have tried to visit places and do things we had never got around to and very nice they were too.
It certainly concentrates the mind when you're faced with a diagnosis.
We will splash out on meals and entertainment so much more than when you don't have that sense of urgency.
We get pleasure from planning things and from living vicariously. We are very happy to hear about where our family have been. This week our DC and DGC are visiting eachother at half term.

We have a 2nd honeymoon planned for our wedding anniversary!
But writing our wills, memoirs or a book hasn't happened yet.

I’ve been lucky, done most of the things I wanted to do. Some didn’t live up to the expectation, some exceeded it. The Via Rail across Canada was one of the latter, GreenGran78, so I’d highly recommend it.

My bucket’s pretty full, I’m very content. No doubt I could and will squeeze a few more things in, but the ones I really want to do are entirely down to me making the effort - writing that book, learning to play that pretty violin I bought on a whim (strong drink was involved).

I did fancy the wing-walking, but with the best will in the world I’ll never see 9 stone again.

Move back to the South of England
Visit my daughter and partner in Australia again.
Stay in a lovely countryside hotel....just one or two nights would be fine.
See the Northern Lights
Hear more live classical/choral concerts

I’m quite happy with my life but there are a couple of things I’d like to cross off my bucket list. One is to see the northern lights. The other is to travel in a time machine! People always laugh at that, but you never know... When we used to watch Tomorrow’s World we never dreamed of the things we are already able to do. ?

I've done most of mine but would love to do some of them again but have to settle for the memories. I've swum nakkit in the Med, been on a cruise, been an extra (or crowd artiste) several times, traversed the Western Isles, crossed Canada from Toronto to Vancouver but didn't manage to go back and 'do' Eastern Canada. At last, I HAVE been across the Sea to Ireland, I've attended my 2 DD's 3 Graduations + Bafta Awards Ceremony and been Mother of the Bride and blessed with 3 DGC who live close by, celebrated our Golden Wedding, bought our cottage as a semi-derelict, empty shell and have turned it into a comfortable family home (has taken 46 years and still not quite finished) .

OH - seeing the posts above - I have seen the Northern Lights - twice here near my home in Central Scotland and once on the Isle of Barra.

See the Northen Lights, fly in helicopter over the grand canyon, visit NZ as my GF was a merchant seaman and it was his favourite place that he'd visited.
Not going to happen now but when I was younger I longed to ride a horse along the sea shore. I have ridden but never managed that.

Gammaretto life style choices for some. Unfortunately financial restrictions for us and others.

I have seen the northern lights and been thrown from a horse galloping along the beach!
I've travelled all round the world.
Bungee jumping and dropping out of planes has never appealed.
I'd love to still be here when my DGC are adults. I am so proud of them.

I am so envious of those of you seeing the Northern lights, have tried twice, in Iceland and in Lapland, and the weather was against us on both occasions, perhaps not meant to be!

I would so love to go to Australia to see the Boxing Day Ashes cricket match. I will get to do it one day. The thing that stops me leaving is my adult sons who still live at home and leaving them home alone over Xmas. They don't like cricket and would not like to travel that far.

I did finally buy two gorgeous puppies last year though. Something I had wanted to do for years. I waited for my elderly cat to die after taking early retirement.

As I get older I am actually more satisfied with what i already have.

Oh yes, Maw. I have that list too.

Visit the house where Anne Frank grew up.
Have afternoon tea with Paul O'Grady.
Travel on the Orient Express.
Go on a few cruises - including river cruises.
Generally, though, just live a happy life - the best revenge on my serial adulterer of an ex-husband!

I saw the Northern Lights in Iceland some years ago but not a very spectacular display as conditions not ideal. I also went to Pompeii many years ago but was ill so have always wanted to go back and see it properly. I travelled quite a bit in the early years of marriage but that was then limited by the arrival of children, then divorce and accompanying lack of funds and the problem of working in a school so inflated prices for trips in school holidays. I retire in 18 months, plan to downsize and then do some travelling with the released equity. All I need then is someone to accompany me - not sure if I'm brave enough to go it alone.

I should like to refresh my French and learn German, to go to an Art class. Travel: the cruise of the Baltic capitals, an art-crawl in the US but not till Trump has gone, maybe a Swan Hellenic cruise of Greece, and Santorini. I've been to most of the other places I wanted to see.

I would love to go on the Orient Express but wouldn’t be able to afford it. I have seen Anne Franks house amazing everyone should try and see it , it makes you realise how awful that time was.

I’d like to do more European travel still countries I haven’t seen but most of all Id like to stay alive long enough to see my grandchildren become adults

I've just returned from the funeral of a friend who died, aged 71, in a car accident in Alicante, Spain. So, get out there and do things, folks. You never know what's round the corner
