Hello all, good wishes etc.

Well, what it says up there ^, that's all I really wanted to say.

MawBroon Fri 15-Feb-19 22:44:20

I would ask if Hattie could come too but she doesn’t do behind sofas and the food would not last a nanosecond.

phoenix Fri 15-Feb-19 22:41:27

OK, so just to check, so far, behind this sofa we have:

Various GN members

At least 2 cats

At least 1 dog

A duvet

A reclining chair

Assorted food & drink (Some needing heating, others refrigeration)

Doodle I think we may have gone beyond needing bigger sofas!

Perhaps we should be considering either some sort of bunker, or (and this would be my choice, but I'm happy to leave any decision to the GN collective) a modest stately home, with moated grounds to ensure that admittance is controlled, and limited to those of a like mind, [plus of course deliveries of essential supplies], and fully staffed.

MawBroon Fri 15-Feb-19 22:26:54

You got Dark and Stormies phoenix !

Doodle Fri 15-Feb-19 22:25:22

? I think we’re being infiltrated! I just got thrown out of GN 5 times by a Bad Gateway notice and then kept being diverted to a menopause thread. Are the powers that be onto our secret hiding place ??‍♂️. Make sure you’re not being followed everyone. Don’t lead them back here ?

Doodle Fri 15-Feb-19 22:18:32

Pinching a line from Calendar Girls, I think we’ll need much bigger sofas!
I don’t think Harrods maw, remember they failed to deliver “Margo’s” Christmas. Perhaps stick to the local shops. I’ve got a hot plate we can put in the corner just in case we fancy something hot ?

Chewbacca Fri 15-Feb-19 22:09:37

Warm lardy cake mmmm....! Not tasted that for years. I'm definitely behind the sofa now!

annep1 Fri 15-Feb-19 22:09:07

eejit is used in an endearing lighthearted way Charleygirl5

phoenix Fri 15-Feb-19 22:06:35

Damn tablet! Not "Larry came" LARDY CAKE!

I will be a very happy Phoenix when my desk top pc is working again!

phoenix Fri 15-Feb-19 22:03:26

I used to buy freshly baked, still warm, Larry came from a bakers that I walked past on my way to work in Windsor.

Could be wrong, but is a "Dark &Stormy" dark rum & ginger beer?

Charleygirl5 Fri 15-Feb-19 21:56:08

annpl sorry, I am partially sighted and my finger must have hit the 8 by accident.

Charleygirl5 Fri 15-Feb-19 21:54:38

I have never tasted a lardy cake before.

annepl8 us a load of eejits? you have the wrong thread. We are all sane and happy.

Chewbacca Fri 15-Feb-19 21:49:06

I think I'd like to join you on/under/behind the sofa if I may; real life is too challenging right now. But please tell me, what is a "Dark & Stormy" Maw? Its sounds almost lethsl right up my street.

annep1 Fri 15-Feb-19 21:47:14

As we say in Northern Ireland you're all total eejits.??

M0nica Fri 15-Feb-19 21:45:50

Can I come if I bring one (or more) lardy cakes, a local speciality, lots of sugar, dried fruit and lard. All those things you are told you mustn't eat.

phoenix Fri 15-Feb-19 21:41:09

PS Charleygirl of course you can have a chair, may I suggest a recliner, just in case we find ourselves in a long siege situation?

phoenix Fri 15-Feb-19 21:37:53

Oh heavens, Oliver Sprout would probably be fine with the dog, not sure how Minnie (aka "the Baggage" as in, oh, don't quite know how to explain, but I don't mean it in the luggage sense, rather a naughty little thing!) would be about a canine companion.

Perhaps she could perch on the back of the sofa until she was sure the dog was a friend?

She could also act as a look out for any potential unwanted invaders?

Charleygirl5 Fri 15-Feb-19 21:27:23

Buffybee I would be delighted to take charge of the dog- she would have so many kisses and cuddles she will be overwhelmed with love.

Buffybee Fri 15-Feb-19 21:24:52

I'll bring Rhubarb Gin and Biscuits for cheese.
Oh! And an ice bucket!
Can I bring my little dog?
She doesn't like being left on her own.

Charleygirl5 Fri 15-Feb-19 21:21:10

I am not a fan of anything fizzy so happy to bring a dry white, my favourite. Biscuits and cheese will be just perfect. Please may I have a chair because if I sit on the floor it would need a crane to get me up.

Neti Fri 15-Feb-19 21:14:59

I'll bring cheese ?

MawBroon Fri 15-Feb-19 21:13:46

With rum we could consider “Dark and stormies “ ......

phoenix Fri 15-Feb-19 21:06:13

I am enjoying the way this thread is going! Lighthearted, silly (in the best way) and no (well, so far at least) unpleasantness!

Nannytopsy Fri 15-Feb-19 21:01:47

I have a new bottle of rum ...

MawBroon Fri 15-Feb-19 21:00:07

Now you’re talking!

BlueSapphire Fri 15-Feb-19 20:59:08

I was thinking about commenting on this thread but I'm not quite sure where it's going....but I would quite like to be behind the sofa with the rest of you with copious supplies of smoked salmon and prosecco, and can I add a bottle of cointreau as well?
