Good afternoon. Another bright and sunny day here. Think I might sit outside in the sun with a book and a coffee for an hour. Got to make the most of it.

Grammaretto Fri 15-Feb-19 12:47:38

Good afternoon all from the Scottish Borders. Sunshine and blue skies here but blowing a gale. You can't have everything!
Happy birthday Brunette!!

Condolences to Mick.

Glasgow girls have a nice meet up.
I have an old pal staying so couldn't join you this time .

I had a fraud through PayPal once which gave me a fright but it was refunded eventually. You do need to be vigilant.

Sadly waiting at Geneva airport for a delayed flight back to the UK. The mountains look amazing and I wish I was staying here.

Good afternoon All.

( laptop problems ) A beautiful day and I know it's only February but that breeze is a bit cutting----fabulous wash-day though.

Did some early morning shopping and a bit of tidying up. Birthday card written for my soon to be 4 year old GGD and this is the start now to every month of the year with various Birthdays,etc----no wonder I'm broke.

Hope everyone has this lovely sunshine.

Mythbirtthedragon Fri 15-Feb-19 11:28:21

Good morning, lovely and bright in east London. I'm letting myself get distracted in all directions this morning, maybe as I'm waiting to hear from DD as she's been seeing the educational psychologist about GD. Need to get a few bits of shopping so that will be my walk (must avoid the charity bookshop, my stack of books is too high). Tennis at 8pm.

I've mentioned before that I got a letter from a Chinese gentleman who claimed he worked for a Hong Kong bank. Apparently a customer with a similar unusual surname to mine had died intestate and they were trying to find somebody who might be heir to his vast fortune. All I had to do was phone the number at the top of the letter and give my bank details... I did not do it and am just as poor as before, but no poorer!!!

Morning all, hope all is well. It's a frosty one in South Notts. Will have to scrape the windscreen later before I go visiting.

Nanny41 Fri 15-Feb-19 11:07:47

Good mornig from a misty Sweden, its unseasonably mild, nobody is complaining.I hope everything goes well at your friends funeral Mick.

Thank you all who have been so kind with your good wishes on my 65th birthday. Only another 141 days before the state think I am eligible for my pension - wow can't wait! A beautiful day here in Fife smile

Morning to all or is it afternoon? I’m very late today due to disturbed night. Lovely here in Torbay today. Condolences Mick and Birthday Brunette.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. A bright, sunny morning in South Yorkshire but cold at the moment. We plan to do some work in the garden today when it warms up a bit. These scam calls are a real worry. We no longer answer our phone unless someone leaves a message and by and large, the scammers don’t. Sorry this happened to your sister, Harris. Happy birthday, Brunette! Enjoy your day everyone.

Nannytopsy Fri 15-Feb-19 09:28:17

Morning all and commiserations to those with sadness and worries. flowers
I am usually very abrupt with cold callers and was quite rude to the district nurse last week when she called asking for DH. blush. Oops - very apologetic!
Garden again today, after a good start yesterday - time to start building up my vitamin D again.

oldgaijin Fri 15-Feb-19 09:09:36

Good morning all from a brilliantly sunny Aberdeenshire.
I had one of those so called bank calls and when asked for card details, my reply was 'no, do you think I came down the Clyde in a banana skin, b****r off'. The caller hung up!
Garden jobs today and may even finish blitzing the shed, especially if it means a trip to the dump...so cathartic! I have evicted the wee moose that over wintered there.
Have a great day everyone.

Mapleleaf Fri 15-Feb-19 09:06:05

Good morning,
It's a frosty but bright sunny morning here at the moment. I hope it warms up as much as yesterday, which was a beautiful Spring like day.
Sorry to hear about your friends funeral, Mick. Hope it goes as well as can be expected.
Sorry, too, to hear about your sisters scam, Harris. What a dreadful upset. I hope the bank help. There are some wicked people out there, I'm sad to say.
Brunette, many congratulations on your special birthday. flowers ??
Hope you all have a good day.

harrigran Fri 15-Feb-19 08:51:27

Urmstongran Fri 15-Feb-19 08:07:13

Meant to say ‘Happy Special Birthday’ to Brunette and condolences to you Mick. ?+?

Urmstongran Fri 15-Feb-19 08:04:14

Good morning everyone from a mild but sunless South Manchester. Lunch out with my father at noon then tonight off to listen to Michael Mosley talk about the 5:2 diet.
Perhaps I shouldn’t have any garlic bread!
What a worry Harris for your sister. We are warned often enough about giving details so I guess the scammers have upped their game. Sadly the banks often refuse to budge I hear saying we’ve been warned. I hope your sister proves the exception to the rule. Do let us know.

Marydoll Fri 15-Feb-19 08:02:28

Good morning all from a very frosty Glasgow, it's -4 degrees, so a bit chilly.

I'm off to meet the Glasgow grannies today and I'm looking forward to seeing some new faces. The dreaded cough is back, but I shan't let that stop me. grin

My thoughts are with the lovely Soop , hoping all goes well with her appointment today.

I'm sorry to hear about your sister, Harris, there are some horrible people out there.

Mick, my sympathies with you. It's so sad when we see our peers dying, someone I know was transferred to the hospice last night.

A very happy birthday to Brunette, who has a significant birthday today, have a lovely time! ???

Have a pleasant day, everyone.

1inamillion Fri 15-Feb-19 07:53:28

Enjoy your birthday Brunette10.

Harris27, very sorry to hear about your sister. Heard a similar story about a doctor who was similarly scammed.

BlueSapphire Fri 15-Feb-19 07:51:27

Oh dear, hope your sister manages to get her money back Harris. These telephone scammers are evil; I never believe anything anyone tells me over the phone.

Good morning everyone; it's very frosty in Northampton and a lovely clear sky.

Sainsbury's and M&S food shop later plus a light lunch and coffee. Then school run this afternoon and DGDs here for tea.

Hope everyone's day goes well.
