How boring it would be to all have the same views. There'd be no need for a debate/discussion would there ?
Adult offspring harbouring resentments
What do people think about the young woman who ran away to join ISIS and now wants to return here to have her baby in safety?
I don't know what to think. I'm sorry her last babies died but I'm horrified to hear her dismiss unbelievers' heads in bins as 'enemies of Islam'. Any thoughts?

Maryeliza I'm afraid that you have to accept the views of others while discussing and it's certainly not the done thing to criticise in the manner that you so do.
Opposing views such as yours are also seen as prejudicial to those whose views are different to yours-------don't you see ?
maryeliza It is possible to disagree with a poster without resorting to insults and abusive language.
If this girl is in the advancement of pregnancy as is stated then the child will be born in Syria and will remain " stateless " for as long as they remain there.
We all know what barbaric procedure will be carried out if it happens to be a female !
Poor starbird
You’re entitled to your ‘stupid’ opinion. Post away if you want to.
Don’t hold back mayeliza it’s never stopped you yet. ?
Airlines won't fly those who are beyond 37 weeks pregnant, but there have been cases where pregnant women have given birth mid-flight, one or two purposely to gain whatever status/citizenship they had in mind " birth tourism " is the name given to these women.
There have been cases of premature births being undertaken on some airlines. It's not something that anyone can predict.
I’ve watched him when he’s been on ‘The Pledge’ on Sky. I didn’t know his name.

Coming to this thread late so apologies if it has been said, but when she returns she will probably get a debriefing and be housed in a council house living on benefits, like 300+ other returnees before her - while many uk citizens who have always supported our government and values, live with one family in a hotel room, or other harsh conditions, waiting for years to be housed.
I would like to see her - ( and all single people with or without children under the age of say, 21) ) being the responsibility of their parents with no house or benefits from the state other than in exceptional circumstances. Alternatively bring back more hostel accomodation rather than individual housing that encourages/rewards an irresponsible lifestyle. We just cannot afford it.
The one I felt was racist has been removed.
A child born abroad to a British parent has the status of British citizen by descent. As for acquiring the citizenship of the country in which you are born, each country has its own laws on this and it’s impossible to generalise
Maajid Nawaz
I am pretty sure that a child of a British person can be British and only has to make a choice between two nationalities when they are 18. Ellan the baby is not going to be born on a plane. Airlines won't fly anyone that pregnant.
Who is ‘MN’ *maryeliza?
The media are saying that the unborn baby is British ? Sorry, but if it happens to be imminent, it'll be Syrian. If she's flown home and the birth happens while flying over a country, then that country becomes the place of birth. Then again if a BA flight is ordered, it'll depend where the plane was registered------Britain probably.
Another thing is that both parents aren't British whichever way you look at it so if the child should be registered as British it has the choice as it gets older of stating a Dutch father-----then when his name is tracked there'll be ructions all over again because he was a member of the ISIS group.
MN is a very good example of someone who dramatically changed his views( although the group he belonged to was never proscribed) when he was in prison in Egypt and was adopted by AI and read books on human rights. He was 24 when he was imprisoned. If you read up on him it shows how very active he was as a speaker and international recruiter for the organisation. I’m listening to him at the moment on LBC and he’s made the point that we can’t call for the deportation of foreign born terroists from the UK and then say other countries should keep our terroists.
Jalima I believe that we have a duty to protect all citizens who are in danger and she most certainly would be from both ISIS sympathisers and the right wing hang em and flog em brigade. Then of course there would be the cost of trying to change her mindset and/or keep her locked up.
I totally agree Buffy
I was just illustrating the lifestyle that ISIL promotes on their own videos to entice other Muslims to join them.
If she comes back to the UK it will cost us a great deal in protection etc
I don't see why. Others have and will come back and do not, presumably, have protection - so should they be asking for protection too?
She's a UK citizen so can come back if the Kurds want to hand them over to their countries of origin, but I see no reason to offer her any privileges.
The Kurds, of course, may have other plans for these people.
People can be made aware of their errors in a polite way.
Some people on here are just rude and arrogant.
Pointing out facts is sensible and helpful but repeatedly doing so after a poster has apologised is mean.
But that’s just my opinion
Maajid Nawaz? Think he was held in Egypt? Will google him
Nonnie
Yes that’s true he’s on LBC?
‘Certain rude poster’. Ooohhh dear. Who could you mean. How utterly shocking. Hound her off. If this awful fact checker hadn’t pointed out about the wrong father being criticised you could all have happily gone on discussing what a dreadful family SB came from - sorry to spoil your fun with facts. It’s just so horrid of her isn’t it? But I doubt she’ll go away as facts are really quite helpful if anyone wants a rational discussion ( that may be a huge assumption of course)
No, she won't be brought back while heavily pregnant it would be against all airline rules. Also we won't be paying for her return in any way at all.
Did you know that the man who started the Quilliam Foundation was originally a terrorist? It is possible for people to see the error of their ways but I don't know how to make that happen.
If she comes back to the UK it will cost us a great deal in protection etc so I hope she won't but we cannot stop her if she finds the means to get back by herself.
