Asked to review a tie

Excellent!

Every time you go to Holland and Barrett, you get an e-mail asking about your experience! Since we go quite often it is now tedious. I used to write 'Went in, bought something, came out' Now it is just 'Same as last time'

Just to sidestep MissAdventure’s Amazon prompt. Only last week hubbie couldn’t sleep for a throbbing knee (we’d done a lot of walking that day). He got out of bed to get some ice. We were actually on holiday and there was none to be had in the freezer but there was a bag of frozen chips. He took this off to bed and placed on knee. What he hadn’t realised was the bag had been opened, so, when he went to move it round his knee, they all spilled out in the bed. So at 3am he got a bowl from kitchen and tried to retrieve said chips from bed. This was all done in the dark, without my knowledge - I slept through his antics.

I spent time carefully wording a review of a book for Amazon only to have my review rejected as unsuitable shortly afterwards.

Review:

MissAdventure. You certainly made me start the day with a laugh! I expect, like most men, he didn't bother to read the instructions. I strongly suspect, though, that he has used a bit of poetic licence in his review of the results. GabriellaG54 If you Google 'funny product reviews' you will find plenty more, though perhaps not on a par with MissAdventure's.

Just read your post MissAdventure and have had to explain to my hubby, who is trying to watch a rather serious tv programme, why I was laughing so much. Thank you.

Laughed so much reading Miss Adventure's link that I was almost hysterical and it physically hurt! My husband thought I'd lost the plot. I'll get him to read it later and see if he finds it as funny as I did. Reminds me of the time my brother used the Domestos Surface Wipes (that my sister in law had put on top of the toilet cistern) thinking they were moist toilet wipes.

I don't understand why anyone would get annoyed just because a review has been requested.
If you shop online as I need to, then reviews can be very helpful.
There is a very simple way to approach writing a review, it goes: Did you like or dislike the item or book and why?
That's all.
And if you take the mindset that giving your feedback could benefit other people what is the harm? It is altruistic really to think of passing some information around for free.
Surely Most Grans want to spread some good around?
And you can always ignore the request which is often what I do. If I don't want to review I don't.

I rarely look at reviews or trip adivsor reviews. It is too easy for false info to be posted, I try hard to buy direct from shops if I can. Sometimes I do have to find what I need via online shopping … more so as I can't walk far just now. I don't fill them is either!

I bought an expensive item before Christmas, had 5 star reviews. I gave it 4 stars, nice item but overpriced. The review was never published!

Ha ha Salsaqueen . How do we know that any of these reviews are genuine anyway? They could have been written by close friends, etc.

MissAdventure I love that over 7000 people found the review helpful! Last year I bought a set of 6 dice from Amazon. We have various games for the grandchildren and the dice always seem to go missing. Last week they forwarded a query from a customer who wanted to know what they were like before they bought them. Since they cost under £5 and the photo showed them actual size I didn't feel I could add an awful lot

Yes ...these annoy me to ...often arriving before I have time to unpack, if its an airline or hotel, etc …...and from some restaurant 'How did we do' ! I am thinking of putting my own request out there for review 'Just flown with your airline/stayed in your hotel.shopped in your shop/...how did I do ...do you rate me as a customer ? should I return ? ….wonder what review I would get
