At the risk of this being the most boring thread of the day, and possibly the year; its snowing hard outside.

Charleygirl5 Wed 30-Jan-19 16:03:12

I do not think it is cold enough for snow here in NW London at present although that may change overnight. It was colder earlier today when it was -2C.

Oldbat1 Wed 30-Jan-19 15:53:37

Clear blue sunny skies today. We’re in the borders.

Nico97 Wed 30-Jan-19 15:14:50

South Yorkshire too and the sun is still shining brightly. In anticipation we bought a sledge for the kids to play with - still waiting hmm

Jalima1108 Wed 30-Jan-19 14:49:23

after having Louis!

Jalima1108 Wed 30-Jan-19 14:48:30

Perhaps she has just managed to fit back into it after Louis.

cavewoman Wed 30-Jan-19 14:43:55

Apparently it's a £1,395 tweed dress. She looks wonderful in it, whatever.

Jalima1108 Wed 30-Jan-19 14:35:54

It looks like a tartan coat plus a scarf *SueDonim?
(and it's years old!)

SueDonim Wed 30-Jan-19 14:33:56

She's have needed it on the river front there! I'm wrapped up in thermals and fleece but unfortunately I look more like the Michelin Man than Kate. grin

M0nica Wed 30-Jan-19 14:18:24

She probably had several thermal vests underneath the dress.

SueDonim Wed 30-Jan-19 13:08:06

It snowed here overnight despite not being forecast. hmm

Anyway, today I am preoccupied by photos of William and Kate opening the new V&A outpost in Dundee yesterday. It was Baltic and she only had a dress on - why didn't her mother make her wear her Big Coat in the cold weather? grin

TwiceAsNice Wed 30-Jan-19 12:15:12

I not J

TwiceAsNice Wed 30-Jan-19 12:14:54

We had a covering last night in Surrey. DD2 and J has been out and when we started home at 9pm it was already snowing bit hairy driving back( her not me) All gone this morning but black ice so horrible and same daughter driving early skidding around warming me not to drive but now it’s very sunny so hopefully all melted later, my car is still covered on windscreen and front with snow and ice. I hate driving in it it scares me but ok if I can stay in and look out the window!

Willow500 Wed 30-Jan-19 11:57:11

mumofmadboys Wed 30-Jan-19 11:51:52

Monica. We stayed in a holiday house in Oxfordshire for Christmas in Cuxham. We went to Benson for the midnight mass service ( at earlier time of 10 or 10.30 PM can't remember now.) which suited us better.

Anniebach Wed 30-Jan-19 11:47:06

Snowing in Mid Wales

M0nica Wed 30-Jan-19 11:24:25

It's not fair!! We live in Oxfordshire about 10 miles from Benson, where the low temperatures in cold periods often make the national news, but narry a flake f soup have we had.

In fact yesterday we were having a family Facebook moan that none of us, whether in Oxfordshire, Hertfordshire or Yorkshire had seen any snow. DGC in Yorkshire were particularly cross as they had got out their sled and cleaned and got it ready in anticipation of the snow.

Elegran Wed 30-Jan-19 10:59:16

Juggernaut Not only students. It snowed during once a visit to my husband's work from some full-grown and quite senior Nigerian businessmen. After all the serious meetings and negotiations, they left to cross the car park to their car. By the time they reached it they were scraping snow from car roofs for snowballs and dodging in and out of the rows to ambush each other. The British contingent watched it all indulgently from the windows.

Miep1 Wed 30-Jan-19 10:31:58

The forecast says it will stop snowing here in Devon in / minutes - but it's forgotten to start!

KatyK Wed 30-Jan-19 09:56:28

We had a brief smattering yesterday but fortunately it stopped. I hate it.

Juggernaut Wed 30-Jan-19 09:46:42

We have about 2 inches here in west Cheshire, but it's melting fast.
We have a snowman in the garden, courtesy of DH and DGS, they started building that at 7-40 this morning!
Just had a text from DS, they have 6 students from southern India in his office this week, none of whom have ever seen snow up close before. Apparently they're out dancing around the car park, and havng snowball fights! He said it's made everyone in the building happy, to see them having so much fun!
I've been out playing in the snowy back garden with DH and DGS, but have now left them out there and am currently warming up with a mug of freshly ground coffee, lovely!

Grannybags Wed 30-Jan-19 09:42:32

Nothing here yet but forecast for tomorrow. Bristol area

MiniMoon Wed 30-Jan-19 09:18:52

It's not snowing in this part of the South West Northumberland! In fact it's a lovely morning. Cold, frosty, but sunny.
The clouds are building, but we are only forecast an occasional snow shower.

annsixty Wed 30-Jan-19 09:08:01

We haveabout 3 inches here in Stockport.
Buses are not running, schools are closed and things have come to a halt.
We really cant cope and yet we used to.

glammanana Wed 30-Jan-19 09:03:10

EV Funnily enough we where woken about the same time I have just drawn back the bedroom curtains to a light covering in my back garden, not enough to complain about though.
We have a light fall of snow and the local airport is closed and just heard many crashes on motorway, what is wrong with this Country when a little snow arrives.
