At the risk of this being the most boring thread of the day, and possibly the year; its snowing hard outside.

Snow in Powys , some roads possible with care some closed, schools closed.

No snow here, just muddy coloured slush. My granddaughter and I are heartily disappointed we were both hoping for a school snow day. We wanted to have a cosy day together rather than the early morning school run.

Mini Moon you are more than welcome to have what has fallen in NW London and still falling. Tara my cat does not understand so she is mumping and moaning.

MiniMoon Thu 31-Jan-19 23:02:09

I feel cheated! Still no snow here.

boheminan Thu 31-Jan-19 22:28:26

Yay! started about an hour ago. Yippie (well, for now anyway)

EllanVannin Thu 31-Jan-19 22:14:50

Just ice here which has sealed the lid on the wheelie bin.

Mycatisahacker Thu 31-Jan-19 22:13:01

catMum

Welcome to mumsnet

Mycatisahacker Thu 31-Jan-19 22:06:03

Can we say as my mother used to ‘it’s too cold to snow’ wink

M0nica Thu 31-Jan-19 21:59:27

The snow has landed. Just looked out of the kitchen windw and the snow is coming down quite heavily, Yay!!grin

M0nica Thu 31-Jan-19 17:12:02

They are promising us snow tonighthmm, they keep doing that.

At least we aren't in the States and under the whirl of the Polar Vortex,

CatMum59 Thu 31-Jan-19 16:55:02

I understand, it's ok. I am new and not really sure of the "regular" posters and their reactions yet.

Elegran Thu 31-Jan-19 15:45:39

It was probably surprise at seeing a post from you that triggered me, catsmum You have only posted once before, as far as I can see, and often a "sharp" post from a new name means that someone has dropped in to criticise and drop back out again. Sorry if I misunderstood you.

CatMum59 Thu 31-Jan-19 15:27:19

Elegran...who rattled your cage? It wasn't your post either! I was, in fact, joking.... hence the grins.

SueDonim Thu 31-Jan-19 13:56:27

It was minus 8 here when I went out at about 10:30am. It's a lovely day, though, sunny and bright and I'm off out again soon. smile

Elegran Thu 31-Jan-19 10:38:53

But you read it, catsmum, didn't you, and even posted on it! If you found it so boring, why did you pay any attention to it? It wasn't your conversation. No-one forced you into it.

Anniebach Thu 31-Jan-19 10:05:31

May not get my grocery order today

CatMum59 Thu 31-Jan-19 09:53:39

As I haven't got any windows or external doors in my house, grin and no television or radio, I had no idea. I thought it was still summer grin...and yes, it's the most boring thread by far grin

blondenana Wed 30-Jan-19 23:14:14

No snow on the East coast, we had a beautiful sunny day
Hoping it doesnt arrive here next week as my son and partner coming from Spain for his mil funeral, and to get to me they have to cross North Yorkshire moors, which is often impassable with heavy snow, the funeral is 40 miles from me,so hopefully they will be ok

lemongrove Wed 30-Jan-19 21:02:30

We all may be in for a fall Annie if it gets icy! ?
No snow yet here, but tomorrow night may be in for some, and DGC are hoping for no school on Friday.

Anniebach Wed 30-Jan-19 20:48:48

Forecast- snow on the way for Mid Wales, mountains in for a fall

BlueBelle Wed 30-Jan-19 19:48:07

Nothing at all in my part of Suffolk

EllanVannin Wed 30-Jan-19 19:28:26

Bitterly cold tonight. I'm a bit worried for the old stray cat as he wasn't in his kennel outside the patio door. Probably got scared with the helicopter overhead this morning. I feed him 3 times a day as well as my own cats, but he's not as fussy as they are and will eat a bit of mashed potato or pasta mixed with cat food to fill him and keep him warm. He's about 16, could be older than that. I hope he's alright.

Another dusting of snow while I haven't been looking so I bet it will freeze on top of it------lethal ! So long as it's gone by Friday as I have a B/day card to post and don't fancy breaking a limb in the process.

M0nica Wed 30-Jan-19 19:14:37

Just heard on the news that the snow has reached Swindon, about 20 miles to the west of us, so I am just hoping it will not get so cold tonight that it doesn't snow.

SueDonim Wed 30-Jan-19 19:12:32

In that case, she was wearing her tartan coat/dress indoors as well, hahaha!

I did think I'd seen it before - maybe it's her What I wear In Scotland outfit. I used to have a gorgeous black watch tartan kilt that I loved to wear. In fact, I still have it, but it would only fit one leg now, because it seems to have mysteriously shrunk whilst hanging in the wardrobe. grin
