I too got married on Dec 12 th having been together for 15 yrs. I'm 69 and my husband is 78. We ran off to Gibraltar to marry and didn't tell any of our children, four boys and two girls but all delighted too. They all have such busy lives.

We also did this 34 years ago, then went home and telephoned our respective parents who were both pretty much of the same ....about time attitudes as we had two small sons by then. It was the best thing ever saved so much palaver ?

Congratulations! It's a lovely way to get married - we did the same. Told everyone we were going on holiday to Spain; flew to Malaga then drove to Gibraltar and got married there. It was all previously arranged including a photographer who was one of our witnesses with the other being the security guard at the Registry office! Lovely day and we told everyone afterwards.
