A little achievement today.

Dannirae: how do you go re-read on Kindle? I've been laboriously clicking backwards, page by page - which is ridiculous, I know. What's the trick? Please?

Well done tanith achievements - large or small - should be celebrated! I find that using cruise control or speed limiter is an easy way to be certain that I don't break any speed limits. I'm now the only driver so cannot afford to lose my licence.

Grannynise, re the car lights, I think you will find an extra light (usually bright blue in my experience) appear on the dash when full beam is on. You will also be regularly flashed by oncoming vehicles (if that helps?!). Might have cruise control. Absolutely no idea. Wheel heater is a pair of gloves for me. Once experienced heated seat. Very pleasant but I tend to like direct heat in any shape or form.

Well done! My husband has shown me so many times how to use cruise control and I still can’t. I’m usually very good with technology, but I remain defeated!

No cruise control on my car but the other day I at long last managed to sound the horn.

Lol! My daughter showed me how to do ours yesterday. She uses it s lot but it’s the first time I’ve tried. So after a short tutorial I am now using it all the time. It’s great because I have bad arthritis in both knees, so can give them a rest now!

Well done Tannith. You have given me inspiration to take my car out and get some practice. I have used cruise control only about twice and need to practice more without my husband sitting beside me. Thank you.

I think you may like a blessings jar I have one and whenever something good happens write it on a small piece of paper and pop it in the jar. When you have a disappointment of are just feeling down open the jar and reflect on how far you have come.

If drive my polo for years without realising where the fog light was! I rang my son who said mam it's underneath the normal lights ! So we still smile about it. Driving a mini now and the gadgets drive me mad !!! Well done tanith.x

Sent away for the SatNav software and map updates, 45 mins sitting in the car whilst stationary with the engine running to get those done. Felt very proud of myself until I worked out that the SatNav was now giving directions in Km, threw me for speed limits. Drove me nuts until I found a way to change all the displays to km (by mistake), and then when I switched the system back to miles, the SatNav went back too - phew!

Haven't attempted cruise control or speed limiter, really ought to make the effort, you are an inspiration Tanith!

My tiny yet satisfying achievement was finding out how to retune my digital radio to find Virgin radio breakfast show instead of Radio 2 which it has been on ever since I was given the radio. Now I can swap between the channels with ease. Might give Radio 4 a go next. Am feeling very tech savvy!
Car cruise control? No chance. I can't even work out how to change the clock when it changes twice a year.

I don't have cruise control or heated seats etc. but I do know how to turn on my fog lights.

It’s when we get to the ‘can be bothered to try to understand new things’ that the end is in sight.

I think of two old ladies I knew. One, my late MiL, wouldn’t even consider using the internet or email to keep in touch with her eldest son and family living in the US. Her loss!

The other, in her 80s was given her daughter’s cast off lap top and was happy to learn to use it. Her only complaint was that the local Internet cafe’s stools were too high for her! But this led to her getting set up online at home.

Oh my..I hope you are talking about automatics..otherwise I have a lot to accomplish! I don't even know what cruise control is! Sounds like something out of Thunderbirds!

Since going on a speed awareness course (33 in a 30 zone), I now use our cruise control in light moving traffic to keep under the speed limit. 29 spot on!

We had cruise control and DH would only ever use it on the really quiet, virtually empty bit of motor way that runs south of the Humber, can't remember what it's called. We used to use that stretch a lot taking DD up and down to uni in Hull. I never used it.

Luckygirl just wheels...those were the days. I remember my dad fitting a heater in his van and putting some seats in the back of another ?
