Hi Rufus2, I'm in Victoria too. Tomorrow's gonna be a scorcher
GrandmainOz; Welcome! Which bit of Vic. I'm in E. Melb, about 30 km from CBD. If you're anywhere North of me you'll have more than a scorcher tomorrow! We are promised a max. of 44C after an o/nite "low" of 28C ! Definitely a "nuddy" tonight as a bare minimum! Been here nearly 50 years, now on my own; still got Mancunian blood!; now 9.11pm also v humid.
Sleep well.! shock

Cold and frosty in E Sussex ... just out to lunch with 2 old school friends, one who I met when we were aged 4, the other aged 11 at Senior school ...... been in my life over 50 years now !

Just started to read these daily threads! Lovely.
I am on the train to Liverpool to return a birthday present to M&S! Hoping for a treat instead

Morning Mick (and all)
Sorry to read about your computer problems, glad all is well now.
Grey and cold in Somerset but nice and warm inside. Pilates for me later this morning then home for lunch with hubby and a little ‘comping’ this afternoon. I dream of winning a holiday somewhere warm and sunny. smile

Good morning from South Lanarkshire. It's a bit warmer today.

Had a bad night sleep wise. Woke at 3 and was convinced it was at least 6. Well it wasn't and, after a coffee, I managed to doze on and off til 7.

EllanVannin Thu 24-Jan-19 09:37:42

Good morning All x
My D is in North Sydney and won't like the humidity sad

Dull damp but not as cold today. No frost. Windows need cleaning so can get stuck into that today.
I don't know about Mick up and running with his mended comp, mine will end up in the bin before long-------it's a mess ! I dread turning it on.

Have a good day one and all.

Auntieflo Thu 24-Jan-19 09:19:46

Welcome back Michael, and thanks to NanKate and others for kicking us off while you were absent.
Morning Annie, how is Fred, have you been out on him yet?
Lovely, if somewhat cold here, so wrapping up in layers.
Enjoy your day one and all.

Good morning everyone (and welcome to the forum ‘newbies’ - this is a lovely gentle way to start the day). Damp but milder today in South Manchester - the dusting if snow cleared overnight. I don’t need to go out at all today. Woohoo! A very lazy day for me then. ?

Hello newbies ? GrandmainOz & Esther1. I love Victoria, my best “faraway friend” lives in Melbourne and we have spent many weeks with her.

Nothing planned for today, looks cold outside in SE Essex. We shall see what surprises are in store.

Keep warm and safe ?

Mass panic to get GS to have breakfast and to get to School on time! Ate his breakfast in car?
GDad took him as icy in Hampshire and cold! and I haven’t got dressed yet!

MawBroon Thu 24-Jan-19 08:50:33

Good morning all and nice to see you back Mick.
Cold and still frozen here in NBucks .
Looking at curtain and blind materials this morning then Archtecture class this afternoon.
Hattie showed her true speed this morning returning from the world record fastest “out” in the garden. Couldn’t blame her!

GrandmainOz Thu 24-Jan-19 08:43:12

Hi Willow10, my cat took a whole vase of flowers off the table yesterday, so there's a coincidencesmile Looked at me with "what's your problem??" expression!

Willow10 Thu 24-Jan-19 08:41:22

Alygran Thu 24-Jan-19 08:39:29

Good morning from frosty North Yorkshire. Beautiful sunrise this morning but a cold day in store. Off to the local retail park for headphones for DGS’s birthday next week.
Good to have Mick back.
Enjoy your day everyone and stay warm.

Willow10 Thu 24-Jan-19 08:37:36

PS - Welcome GrandmainOz!

Willow10 Thu 24-Jan-19 08:35:13

Good morning all and welcome back Mick! Looks bright but damp and cold outside. Neighbours cat just wandered in for her usual breakfast and knocked a full cup of tea off the coffee table! Does this mean it's going to be one of those days? ? I need to get a photo done to renew my passport today, along with shopping for wallpaper. Hope it's a good day for everyone.

GrandmainOz Thu 24-Jan-19 08:35:06

Thankyou Grammaretto

GrandmainOz Thu 24-Jan-19 08:33:42

Marydoll, thankyou, that's very kind

Grammaretto Thu 24-Jan-19 08:33:21

Morning all and welcome newbies and to Mick who has been much missed.
Here in the Scottish Borders it is cold but there are no icicles on the inside. I haven't ventured out yet.
I'm well but all around have gone down with the lurgy fluey cold so I'll have to play nurse.

I don't have a working laptop and do everything on my clever phone.

oldgaijin Thu 24-Jan-19 08:30:18

Greetings all from a frosty Aberdeenshire. The sky's pink and pretty so it looks like it will be a good day.
Ironing this morning while my lovely cleaning friend whizzes round the house.
Welcome back Mick!
Have a good day everyone and watch out for slippery roads.

dragonfly46 Thu 24-Jan-19 08:25:50

Good morning great to have you back.
I hate broadband being down more than the car not starting!

Coffee with friends this morning. DH finally up for it.

What a great idea Kitty.
