WELCOME!

I took Himself to meet the physios yesterday and visit the gym and some of the amputees in the class. He was measured for his wheelchair and it has been ordered. It was emotionally draining and exhausting. You could just see the reality hitting him and I wanted to weep for him .... but I can't as it is so disabling to us both. He now has the MRI appointment for 1st March so am praying for the pre assessment to be around the same time. So hoping that the timing will be right for DS to be with us over the operation time, know we will manage without him but it would be so helpful. They will get him home as swiftly as they can which is important. I just don't know how I am going to manage to get the chair in and out of the car. Hopefully someone will have the solution and "sufficient unto the day ..... " !

I was too tired to sleep much last night and now need some energy to get up. Smokie keeps coming in and squeaking at me so clearly it is time I got on with it! Now Himself has arrived and wants his breakfast .... why does he wait for me? It's only a bowl of muesli!confused

DD arrives today and will stay for 5 nights which will be lovely. smile

Good luck Soop for Monday. Thank you all for the welcome, and the good wishes for himself. The waiting is hard, but hopefully the cancer hasn’t spread to much. My son is coming this morning complete with no’s 6 and 7 grandsons, he is going to mow the hayfield called a lawn and they are being spoiled by Gran!

soop we hope you had a restful night after yesterday and that everything happens very quickly as the waiting is the worst part. It does feel daunting to be on an unknown path but there are so many helping hands in the nhs as well as good wishes winging their way to you and we will keep you in our prayers. (((hugs))) flowers

Welcome to new Kitchener, such a comfy, caring place to be especially when it is difficult to share with those nearest and dearest and always lovely to share the beautiful and special. We have the most beautiful babies, lovely photos and calorie free cakes and munchies! The last of my sultana loaf is on the side and the last slice is always the best so help yourself. smile

Sending my very best wishes soop, I will never forget your kindness to me when I got my diagnosis and here I am three years on and cancer free. Positive attitude goes a long way to aid recovery.

Just nipped in for news of soop, sorry to hear it’s “something” rather than “nothing”. As always I’m in admiration of your matter of fact and positive attitude. Sending you and the lovely MacS very best wishes for this next challenge x
Welcome to new visitors, I think you’ll find it to be a warm and welcoming place where the highs and lows of life are shared.

Charleygirl5 Fri 15-Feb-19 21:25:37

Delighted to hear they are not wasting time soop and it will soon be Monday. I think the weather again will be on your side. Did you manage to have fish and chips today?

Welcome Susan, Anneliese and Margaret to the madhouse.

callgirl1 Fri 15-Feb-19 21:21:17

annodomini Fri 15-Feb-19 21:09:10

(((hugs))) to you and McS, soop. What a lot of to-ing and fro-ing your diagnosis involves, but it has been worth it to get an idea of what can potentially be done. Another trek on Monday. You must be beating a path to Glasgow.
Two days in a row I've had the washing out and dried! Must be some kind of record for February. Hope I can get away without much ironing!
Sympathy to everyone who is anxious about a partner or relative. I wait daily for news of my sister (with MND) in NZ who has deteriorated significantly since I left Christchurch just two weeks ago.

Marelli Fri 15-Feb-19 21:08:08

Onwards and upwards, soop, my dear. Rooting for you, along with the the rest of 'us lot'. Xx

Susan56 Fri 15-Feb-19 21:06:10

Hello everybody.I too am new to the kitchen but have been reading the posts for sometime.I love the support that everyone gives each other and the fact that everybody shows such kindness.Soop,I wish you all the strength you need, thinking of you and sending positive thoughts?

Anneliese63 Fri 15-Feb-19 20:48:46

Hello everyone! Like Margaret I am also new. I found Soop’s previous kitchen by chance (very lucky!) and have visited every day. I love the humour, but most I love that you genuinely care, and offer support to each other. Like most of you, I too have worries, with DH and DGD having tests for potentially serious health issues. My very best wishes to all.

cornergran Fri 15-Feb-19 20:32:22

Your positive approach will help hugely soop, I hope it’s ok to say I’m delighted you are being offered treatment. Hospitals are indeed exhausting places, I trust your feet are elevated and you can both relax this evening. Love and hugs to you both, sleep well.

mrshat Fri 15-Feb-19 20:26:19

Soop- keep up that positive thinking and keep strong. Strong healing vibes. x flowers

kittylester Fri 15-Feb-19 20:24:50

Sending massive (But gentle!) hugs to you and to macs, dear soop.

The hospital visits can be very wearisome so please pace yourselves.

dragonfly46 Fri 15-Feb-19 20:19:03

Soop as others have said we are all with you in this and sending love!

GrannyGravy13 Fri 15-Feb-19 20:14:00

Soop all your kitcheners are rooting for you ???
