Twin2 the thought of all that dental work makes me cringe. The very best of luck to you tomorrow.

Soop's super supportive kitchen (with a wing for poorly menfolk)
(1001 Posts)Here we are again. Happy as can be. All good friends and jolly good company.
WELCOME!
I know I’m fairly new and I’ve not visited for a while but send everyone best wishes ?
I’m having mega dental stuff tomorrow but minor in comparison to others. Take care.
corner so sorry to hear about your aunt.
soop sorry to hear about all your hospital appointments. Hopefully all will be well.
grey those bacon butties sound lovely certainly well-deserved after braving the football field.
soop\ I saw the result when Novak was 2 sets up. Rafa did not appear to be his usual self.
Our minds think alike because I also had a fleeting glimpse of GG applying cake icing.
Greyduster at least DH had the presence of mind to do something sensible for a change. I quite fancy one now.
Charley Rafa was beaten into submission. I was rooting for him but...the winner by a mile was Novak. Well done to him.
Doodle I hope that the outcome of your sister-in-law's surgery has a favourable outcome.
Continue to soak up the
. It's a very chilly wind that is buffeting the trees in our garden. The waves are slightly less dramatic than they were earlier today.
Greyduster You richly deserved that hot bacon and sausage sandwich. The very thought of it is making my mouth water.
GrannyGravy For a fleeting moment, I thought that you were icing a cake! I have a one-track mind. Take special care of your back. Very sensible to return home to the comforting warmth of a heat pad.
Baggs has agreed to meet with us for an old fashioned blether. Yay!
I am about to log off. My youngest son is in Mexico...paragliding. I trust that he'll not land on that dratted wall.
I shall return tomorrow morning. Please take good care of yourselves. You are all very special peoples.

I’m on hols at the moment and to our surprise sitting in the sunshine. Just had to pop in to say I’m sorry to hear about all the troubles that have been happening to my fellow kitcheners. A get better soon wish to all the poorly people and a gentle hug to all those with troubles and worries.
My dear SIL has been taken into hospital while we are away and is due to have an operation today hopefully to give relief for an undiagnosed problem which is a bit worrying.
kitty my DH had polyp too. All was well in his case and I hope the same for your DH. Sorry for all your losses and sadness. A little Wolfie smile would lift anyone’s heart. Likewise your ‘naughty boy’ N&G ?
Lovely portrait again soop. Hope all is well with your hospital visits and McSporran’s a good meet up with Baggs is needed to lift your spirits.
Hope all the men are behaving themselves and matron is keeping them in order ?
Take care one and all.
I must be absolutely bonkers! DH was determined to go to junior footie this morning, and I wanted to stay in bed on the grounds that I woke up at three thirty and got up at five!! “Look” he said “the sun is shining; it’ll be fine!”
. Yes, right! Even with two sweaters and a padded winter jacket, two pairs of gloves and thermal lined trousers, the wind, which you could lean into and not fall over, was bitter and I was freezing. And we lost. But then just as I was getting into the car to come home, DH disappeared (slowly as he is still walking with his stick) into a little cafe across the road and came back with hot bacon and sausage sandwiches which were really delicious, so that almost made up for the cold. A different kind of artery clogging delight to your double choc fudge cake Ann, but I wouldn’t half mind a slice of that too.
Soop I wish you well with all the medical appointments, both yours and MacS’s. You have a lot to deal with. It is true what old Will S said. “Troubles come not as single spies but in battalions!” Everything crossed for you. Hope you get to meet up with Baggs.
Corner I am so sorry about your aunt. She lived to a great age, but it is still hard on the family left behind. My sister’s mother in law was a little shy of a hundred when she died. She was more of a grandmother to me than my own and encouraged my love of gardening but, much to her disappointment, never managed to teach me how to crochet! She was such a fixture in my life that I could scarcely believe it when she’d gone. I hope the logistics work out for you.
N&G that certificate is a splendid feather in Cooper’s cap! It’s always nice to see children get some form of tangible encouragement for their efforts! Mind you, he’s in competition with Grampy now, with his recent certificate, so the race is on!
Kitty Wolfie is coming on a treat! I wonder if he’ll be a footballer like Bertie?
Well, I put some washing on the line this morning. I suppose I had better go and have a look to see if it is still there. It could be hanging off the town hall flagpole by now in this wind!
I will look in later.
soop sorry but I prefer Novak and I hope he wins. It will be a long match I think. I watched the female match yesterday, or at least part of it, can I waste another day?
soop sorry to hear about more buggerations in the medical dept. You and MacSporran are keeping the hospitals open in your neck of the wood up and running.
corner please think of numero uno when thinking about travelling to funerals.
Oh sorry to hear of your investigations soop, as you would say what a "buggeration". Hopefully your meet up with Baggs will be a delightful interlude amongst your woes.
Corner sorry to hear of the death of your Aunt, what an age to reach.
Aging is not for the "lilly liveried" is it? We never know what trials and tribulations will come our way. Feel so lucky to have found gransnett and this kitchen.
Back is still misbehaving, I am icing the offending area as I type, not particularly comfortable. I am trying to do all the exercises physio said, apart from those that are extremely painful.
Off to a local restaurant for Sunday lunch with friends, so saving the heat patch and pain relief for then.
Wishing you all a peaceful Sunday x
Thank you, corner. By the by, the not so poorly ward for menfolk seems a little too quiet. I'm trusting that Matron and her team of helpers have been in to check up on the welfare of the inmates residents.
Just in time soop, orange ones are on the side for you - hands off you lot
corner Save the orange ones for me.
I fancy a Mars bar. Must have been at least twenty years since I scoffed one and gained several inches around my tum.
Tennis beckons. Come on, Rafa! Back with all a little later.
I'm also hoping for good news for you both soop, this getting older lark isn't always fun.
Yes, charley my Aunt would have reached 100 later this year. We're worried about her funeral, distance and logistics are very difficult but it feels very wrong not to attend. We need to wait and see when and where both funerals are and think things through.
Double chocolate fudge cake sounds just the thing ann, I am currently eyeing a pack of Smarties, I may hold out
Sorry to hear about your breast lump soop.
I hope tomorrow brings you some better news and Macs has a good outcome on Wednesday.
When my D lived overseas the cake of choice for celebrations was a Double Chocolate Fudge Cake.
It served about 20.
It really was an artery clogging delight.
I will arrange to have one flown over.
It will pick us all up.
Kind thoughts to all in pain and sorrow today.
Tomorrow, I have an appointment for a pre-op assessment. Rectal prolapse. On Wednesday MacSporran has his routine appointment with the haematologist. The following week, I have a hospital appointment in Glasgow to have a lump in my breast investigated and scanned. I'm hoping that I may be able to fir in a meeting with Baggs. She never fails to cheer. I shall p.m. Baggs with the details.
N&G Please may we adopt Cooper and have him as our mascot? He has a wicked smile. Cannot help but love him.
Ann
Thank you.
corner Your aunt is now at peace. Her struggles are over. I trust that the family will have fond memories of her.
Group hug time All those in needd, please step forward. After which, we'll hunt for cake. The gooier the better.
GrannyGravy13 Your kind comment regarding our kitchen was super special. Thank you.
corner sorry to hear of your aunt's death- she must have been a fair old age. That will be another funeral- not the best time of year to be travelling.
This morning brought news of my Aunts death so a bit flat here. My cousin is understandably exhausted and emotional. I feel for her and her brother who is a bit of a recluse but devoted to his Mum and once again wish I was closer.
I’m also very tired as sleep was elusive last night so little on the agenda here. It’s oh so windy outside although we have sunshine which makes a comfy seat in the conservatory a very good option.
Sorry your back isn’t cooperating grannyg, do be honest with the physio. I actually had an apology from mine when I was having physio for my knee and one of his exercises caused back pain. It could be the exercise regime needs tweaking.
Coffee time now I think. Take care everyone, there seems to be a lot of worry and distress about at the moment. Look after yourselves.
Lovely photo of Wolfie, a smile to brighten a winter's day.
Sending healing vibes to all sad and poorly kitcheners and other halves.
dragonfly I know that the 6th seems yonks away but it is just around the corner. Please send Mr. dragonfly to me- he will be so happy to run out of my house and back to yours that there will not be mutter or a murmur from him. Does he not give a thought to your concern?
N&G Cooper is as proud as punch with that lovely grin on his face. His parents should be so proud of him- it may encourage him to do more.
I second that Ann I get tremendous support here and hope I offer it to others.
Galen you know we are and we always will be.
That is soops kitchen in a nutshell.
We are there for each other.
I have wonderful support and comfort, not pretended, real.
We are all so very lucky.
Thanks
At least I know you’re all there if I need to unload!
