I`m so sorry to read your news Izabella, you must be feeling shocked to the core. I hope that your treatment is being started straightaway.

David got his appointment through today for the oncologist, March 11th. A man who was there when he was a couple of weeks ago, got his appointment within a week, so David is trying to be positive and think maybe it`s not as bad as at first thought.
I`ve just found my oven out AGAIN, it`s getting to be a regular thing, trouble is if I don`t think to go back and check it, it makes meals very late. I`m seriously thinking of having a new oven, although this was new when the kitchen was put in just over 18 months ago.

N&G Those two marvellous boys are in for a treat. Having time to spend with two doting grandparents is as good as it gets. At 10:30 tomorrow, I shall give you a special thought. I shall be starting my ironing duty (a day out of kilter, thanks to yet another dental cancellation on behalf of a pal in the care home). Never mind. At 1:00 I shall have a wee bit of spending money to put into the tin box in the knicker drawer.

We're making plans for good friends to care for the fort/feed the birds/deal with unforeseen problems. Not too long before we are with our rowdy family. I cannot tell you how much we are looking forward to the event. After which. I guess that the treatment for breast cancer will be about to start.

After ironing, I shall pop into the kitchen. In the meantime, my love and all good wishes to each and every one of you.

One small boy dropped off, a small respite and tomorrow we collect 2 small boys for 4 days. We are currently enjoying the last of the silence :-)

The tigers were fabulous Willow they have a reasonable enclosure and much is done to enrich their lives . I'm sad they are in a zoo but I doubt I would ever see them in the wild. Our zoo has a tiger feeding experience which I am hoping I might get for my birthday :-)

Is your Stevie a Steve now? I am wondering when/if he will adopt the grown up version of his name. Jackson is much better and he and young Cooper are chomping at the bit to be here so we will be doing a handover in the motorway services at 10;30am tomorrow as they cannot wait a moment longer!!!

I am off to pop on the stew for dinner , so will catch up with all tomorrow.

Izabella as soop says there are no words to express my sadness for you.
You are obviously devastated at your diagnosis, please accept any helpfull advice and thhe medication available to halt the progress ,which is prescribed at the onset.
My H lived well with very slow progress until he had a stroke which was caused by a totally different condition he had.
I send you my very best wishes, you are in my thoughts and prayers.

It's a funny day. Damp and murky and mild. The robin is singing his heart out. It's a lovely sound. And then, the crow caws...not as tuneful but equally life affirming.

Cannot catch up with all the troubles in this kitchen, but having just been for a fitting for some new bras, “wobblerus” seems appropriate. I had no idea my midsection had expanded so much ????

Izabella,so sorry to hear your news?but as others have said there are medications to slow the progression.I would also suggest calling the Alzheimer’s society for help and support,they are so helpful and have such a lot of knowledge.

izabella what dreadful news for you to take on. However, you are obviously in the early stages. Knowing what you do, please get any treatment you are offered as soon as possible. Sorry I do not know your circumstances but hope you have family and friends near by (not on your walkabout but when you get home). Take care

Internet access so a brief post. Devastating news for me to come to terms with during my walkabout. I had alzheimers confirmed before I set off, so I am slinking into the kitchen as having a down day today. Kindly keep me a reserved chair in the corner, preferably near the cake containers.

Apologies to all those whose troubles I have not mentioned. I have had a brief read through but feel bruised and unable to say much really today.

Morning everyone. I’m pleased you finally got home after such an arduous journey Soop and the scan wasn’t too uncomfortable. Reminds me of the time Mr W drove me all the way to Plymouth (about 4 hours) to see a renowned anosmia consultant for a follow up appointment only to find he’d been called away and we came straight home again! Lovely photos – maybe I should try to dress Daph up for another portrait

Callgirl I do hope your son gets the appointment soon – hopefully the news the cancer hasn’t spread means they are not too concerned that he needs an urgent one but it’s still very remiss to keep patients waiting like this.

Ann yes Willow 10 appeared a few months ago as well as another Willow (45) I think. I did check with admin if I could change my name but they advised it was best not to as I’ve started discussions so I’ve left it – hopefully neither of them has said anything controversial that people would think was me I’m sorry your husband seems to be feeling depressed – it may have been a lucid moment that gave him the ability to recognise something wasn’t right but the only ‘good’ thing about AZ is that he won’t remember. None of us can stress enough please don’t feel guilty about being relieved to walk away after a visit – it’s a very draining experience. I hope his appointment goes well tomorrow.

I went to a concert last night to see Slash at our local venue. My son, GD1 and her boyfriend drove up from Bedfordshire for it too and I met up with my cousin so we had a great night. The fact that such a big act sold out in minutes of the tickets going on sale shows how popular it was so no surprise it was absolutely heaving. Couldn’t see a thing apart from on the folks in fronts phones videoing parts and as I d cricked my neck that morning I was definitely not head banging but the music was worth it. Mr W was a star taking me, coping with the traffic then sitting in the carpark at B&Q for an hour waiting for us at 11.30. Thankfully they got home at 2.15 am but not sure GD will have arrived at work this morning

N&G just seen your tiger photos – magnificent creatures! We were at the Yorkshire Wildlife park last year around 4pm when all the big cats started calling for their tea – what a chilling and yet exhilarating noise – it echoed right round the park! I hope you are coping with the half term week’s holiday and Jackson is better by tomorrow. My sons (one who was/is called Stevie too) used to love going to my parents during the holidays when they still lived at the seaside and they of course loved having them. Just realised that must be 40 years ago!!

Is coming here today – a man (a funny saying someone my mum worked with many years ago used to say) Anyway he’s supposed to be coming this afternoon to try and fix the conservatory roof – it poured down last night so I hope it’s not too wet for him to access it. I will away and start some baking – and take more painkillers for my sore neck!

Callgirl good news from the scan but frustrating David does not have a follow up appointment. Maybe they are all busy behind the scenes working out a plan.

Evening all. Pleased to report I’m feeling much more robust today. Nothing has changed but I’m coping now and feeling embarrassed at my wobble. Thank you all for your kindness.

I’m sorry David is still in limbo callgirl, the scan result does sound positive though.

Is your family get together soon, soop? Sorry, I’ve lost track. We’ve a mini one here tomorrow, it’s rare we can all be in the same place at the same time and I’m so looking forward to it. Lunch out then back so the children can wreck the place, lovely . It will do us good to have the distraction.
