I am so glad that I am managing as well as I am and that I can drive, admittedly a car with bells and whistles 
but it works well for us.

We have been given a gift of a large rainbow trout and a bag of samphire so that is dinner sorted for us today and probably tomorrow as well considering the size of it! We are just going to pop the fish in foil with butter, bay leaves, dill and lemon and bake it in the oven and steam the samphire. Looking forward to it!

Smokie and I have had a very long 'conversation', much to Himself's amusement, with what I am sure are complaints about being left on his own for such a long time yesterday, including not being let out, and there being 'a something' in his litter box which isn't him! He is so funny and cute but sadly not very cuddly which I am hoping might come eventually although we are not holding our breath. He looks like a big cuddly grey teddy cat wich he is but only allows me a maximum of 30 seconds. 
Keep safe everyone! The snow looks beautiful but it is very cold and treacherous underfoot. We do not need any breakages of dear Kitcheners!

Another day trapped indoors, I have recovered my good humour with Grampy so you cN let him out now ladies ?. Sam is willing to be a Pat dog , he is spending his snowy days sleeping lol
I will post a picture of young Jackson this morning with the Tudor cottage he made all on his own. One parent commented that the thatch was a bit of a mess !!! I would have been tempted to punch him soundly on the nose !! I am supremely proud that he made it with only minimal adult help unlike the rude mans child who’s house was pristine and so very plainly NOT made by a 7 year old !! Grrrr
It’s a white foggy start to the day so I am debating whether the West Wing will be warm enough but to avoid putting Grampy on the naughty chair two days in a row I might give it a go ...back later !
Soop so glad you got home safely after a very traumatic day and that things are looking a bit better for Macs. Isn't the human body amazing? And thank God for our NHS!

This is the first time all day I have had a chance to stop but now DH is asleep I shall take a little time for me and to give an update. The appointment with the vascular surgeon went well and the first steps have been taken and xrays and vascular tests. We now wait to see the physio as DH's upper body strength has to be increased and he has to be as fit as possible which all makes sense as apparently it takes far more energy to do anything with a prosthetic leg. It has been a very emotional and draining day but everything was laid on the line to make sure that Himself was aware how major the surgery will be. Frankly we could have done without it as we already know all that but I know they have to do it. It isn't as if there is any choice really as the infection in the ankle bones is rising up the leg and with an artificial hip in there it would be catastrophic if he had to have that removed as he would then be permanently in a wheelchair. Some of the tests were to determine how far the infection has got so we are hoping it will not be so far that a below the knee amputation is no longer possible. We hope for the best and prepare for the worst.

Sounds as if there is too much fraughtness kitty, please relax when you can.
Fraughtness here has reduced after a very nice, simple, lunch at a local nature reserve cafe. Somehow I bagged the table in front of the log burner, came out much more relaxed than when I went in.
Hattie will make an adorable pat dog maw. I wonder, could she be fitted with a spy camera to make sure human behaviour is as it should be?
No pressure n&g and nannytopsy but I can vouch for the fact that extractions can be quick, totally painless and bring relief from pain. I know it’s scary, I actually shook, but it has been oh so worth it. You can do this. .
