Good morning all
Still no Mick to start us off for the day.
It’s rainy here. The very fine stuff.
Not a lot on for me today. Hope everyone’s day is good. ?

Good morning. Our part of Birmingham is bright and sunny at the moment. Mind you, yesterday started off the same and I set off out to town and by the time I got off the bus there was torrential rain.

Not joking, joining!! Damn predictive text!!

Maimeo Thu 17-Jan-19 09:09:29

Morning everyone from wet and chilly Dun Laoghaire, where I’m minding my little GS. Going shopping shortly for choccy buns for Papa for tea break, our weekly treat. Looking forward to seeing a play tonight in local theatre. Joking on concerns for Mick, hope he’s ok ??

Morning from Sweden, we had snow yesterday
Nanny41; Here's my welcoming post, which you missedgrin No snow in Melbourne! Only 35C today! I'm still anxious to sharpen my lingual skills! Keep Healthy and warm!
"God kväll Nanny41; Välkommen till GN. Jag är en OAP Grandad som bor i OZ och försöker lära mig språk via Internet för ett jobb med FN som tolk. Vi hade några tyska lektioner innan jul, men svenska kommer att bli en bra förändring.
Gott nytt år"

Thank you for the tip Dora. We have Velcro strips on our hospital gowns - even more unreliable than press studs, especially when they’ve been laundered umpteen times. I managed to spend my gift cards on some new underwear. After looking around M & S I can see why they are struggling, nothing to inspire me. When I came out of M & S it was raining but it’s nice undercover in the Bull Ring. Just having a coffee and people watching then I will head for home on the train.

Annaram1, not seen you on this thread before, so welcome!
Michael12 is the lovely gentleman who traditionaly starts the Good Morning thread every day. We usually wait for him to post, before we all follow. If he knows he will not be able to post, he lets us know beforehand.
As he is so reliable, we are concerned that something has happened to him.
However, he has been having issues with Windows10, so we are hoping that is the reason for his absence.

Annaram1 Wed 16-Jan-19 11:56:39

Please - who is Mick?

Nanny41 Wed 16-Jan-19 11:32:30

Morning from Sweden, we had snow yesterday, today its raining and mild, one good things the snow will melt, I am having a day indoors.Have a good day everyone.

Jane43 & DoraMarr sending love for good radiotherapy results.

DoraMarr Wed 16-Jan-19 10:57:04

Jane43 I’m sorry to hear you are a bit down. I have just started radiotherapy - I felt just like you beforehand, stuck in a bit of limbo. However, once you start your course I’m sure you will feel more positive. Here’s a tip: take a pashmina or similar to put round you once you have changed into the gown. It can get a bit cold, and bedsides, the press- studs are not always reliable!

Jane43 Wed 16-Jan-19 10:39:41

I thought I’d join in as I can’t see anybody reporting from Shropshire. In Telford first thing it was cloudy but quite mild and dry and starting to brighten up. I have come to Birmingham to spend some Christmas gift vouchers before I am committed to radiotherapy next week. It is similar here but always seems colder when I come here. I am sitting in M & S cafe summoning up the motivation to shop, it seems to have lost its appeal lately.

Sorry to hear about your cancelled holiday Dragonfly46, I’m sue the insurance will cover it.

Hope your leader appears soon.

Kim19 Wed 16-Jan-19 10:38:56

Can't get over how unseasonably mild it is here in the beautiful North. I'm going to continue capitalising by doing bits and pieces in the garden. Hope everyone has such a simple pleasure day in prospect.

EllanVannin Wed 16-Jan-19 10:18:14

Good morning All x

My Win 10 has been going scatty this morning with the cursor having a mind of its own and there's no way you can type anything when it goes like this. It's not the first time it's happened. It just loses its grip and also other information too. Give me the 7 any day but Microsoft are no longer supporting it in the distant future. sad

Soggy dull day today so won't be going far I don't think.

Hope all is well with everyone. Enjoy your day.

GrannyIris5 Wed 16-Jan-19 10:12:13

Morning all, grey and damp in Uxbridge ?

Coconut Wed 16-Jan-19 09:48:50

A grey day in E Sussex so am off for a 2 hour power walk with a friend as I need to keep busy. Am awaiting a dear friends cancer results today so am trying to stay positive.

angelic Wed 16-Jan-19 09:39:26

Morning all from a dull, wet Hampshire.
Things to sort out today.
Had a good de-cluttering day yesterday (it does feel good) wardrobe and chest of drawers awaiting collection for local charity.
Quite a newbie on here, hope all is ok with Mick.
Take care all and have a good Wednesday.

oldgaijin Wed 16-Jan-19 09:36:19

Good morning all from a dreich Aberdeenshire.
Shall have to check on late Mother's house today, an eighty mile round trip. It's been for sale since July and not one nibble, though there have been 10 requests for home reports and I have dropped the asking price, bah! Shall probably go past the solicitors to gee them up before a quick visit to a friend before coming home. What a fun filled day...this girl knows how to live!
Have a good day everyone.

Auntieflo Wed 16-Jan-19 09:32:25

Good morning Mick, (if you are there somewhere), Hi Annie and all.
Commiserations Dragonfly46, but when you are both feeling up to it, a holiday will give you a lift.
I also seemed to wake several times last night, but not every hour Mapleleaf. Now have a heavy head and a visual migraine.
It is damp and dull outside, with a breeze, not that I have ventured out yet, just looking through the kitchen window while I summon up the energy to get going.
Have a good day one and all.

Pittcity Wed 16-Jan-19 09:14:52

Good morning from a grey skied Colchester. Rain is due soon.
Usual Wednesday coffee meetup this morning in town.
Didn't somebody have a contact number for Mick's sheltered housing the last time he went offline?

Mapleleaf Wed 16-Jan-19 09:09:09

Good morning,
I posted a short time ago, but the internet went down, so I lost it.
I'm hoping Mick is ok too, though I think if his windows 10 is down, any pm's that have been sent to him won't have got through to him until it's up and running again. Let's hope that is the reason.
Sorry to hear that you have had to cancel your holiday, Dragonfly and hope you can rebook once your DH is fit again.
I had a poor night sleep wise, woke up at 4 with a banging headache, so went down to make a hot drink and take a painkiller. After that, I seemed to wake every hour, so gave up at 8 and went down to make another drink then come on here. Then, as I say, to top it all, I lost my post!
I hope you all have a decent day today. Take care, all.

NannyJan53 Wed 16-Jan-19 09:08:43

Good Morning from a damp Black Country.

Just back from the gym! It is hard going early in the morning, but it is then done for the day.

Taking Mum to see Solicitor today to update her Will, and although she has a POA, she doesn't have the Health and Welfare one, so sorting that out also.

So we will have a potter round the town, then lunch, then onto the appointment.

Sorry about your holiday plans Dragonfly hopefully the insurance will pay out and you can plan another one soon.

Concerning about Mick, hope he is back soon, but of course there is no way we can possibly contact him

Best wishes to all of you going through ill health at the moment.

Susan56 Wed 16-Jan-19 08:57:17

Good morning.Raining in North Shropshire.A day catching up on laundry and housework today.Have had a busy few days sorting things out for my mum,she is much happier now,we took her home yesterday in a much happier frame of mind than when we collected her.

NfkDumpling Wed 16-Jan-19 08:50:29

Morning All

Grey and dismal here in the north of Norfolk. It sort of matches the mood of the country methinks.

Off to do the teas for the volunteers Panto at our Stately Pile today. One day I’ll get to see the production!

I do hope Mick turns up soon. It’s concerning. I don’t think there’s anyway we can report him missing. Bloke gone quiet in Brackley?

dragonfly46 Wed 16-Jan-19 08:47:11

Ironically it is not me that cannot go on holiday but DH who has such bad sciatica there is no way he can sit on a plane for 4 hours.

Rufus2 Wed 16-Jan-19 08:45:31

Good Evening All; Well, it had to happen! The heatwave has left Melb. and was only 33C today; cloudy all day, very humid, but still no rain! 20C tonight, so will have the hots again!

Btw. has anyone contacted "Missing Persons" about Mick?
