It's a tough one Dragonfly. What ever you are experiencing seems to touch everything around you, sometimes in a big way and sometimes just enough to bring your thoughts back to it. It is really hard to select a film, a book, anything, with the confidence that you can relax and enjoy. The fact that we were not expecting to be faced with our thoughts right then makes it worse.
Sorry it upset you Dragonfly. Sending you hugs and a bit of relaxation. X

I think that Cold Feet has always combined comedy with pathos dragonfly - but I can understand how it could have unsettled you.

I'm not sure how I feel about it - although I do dislike it when I'm reading a novel or watching a tv programme and someone blithely announces that someone died from something which I now know can be curable or at least controlled.

Best wishes.

dragonfly, I can understand, to settle down to watch a comedy and it suddenly goes dark, brings one back to the real world , I am sorry it caused you distress x

Yes I hadn't realised it would be so hard Annie. I know these subjects have to be addressed but when you are in the middle of diagnosis and treatment it doesn't seem very helpful to have it in the middle of a comedy. I am okay with celebs talking about it because it normalises it but I am not sure I can watch a blow by blow account of her diagnosis and treatment etc. Especially if it doesn't end happily all in the name of entertainment.

I loved it - all the characters have a story going on that seem realistic with their stage of life.

dragonfly you were watching a comedy and suddenly Jen visiting the doctor must have been so difficult for you ,

In recent years there have been celebrities speaking out about their battle with illnesses , they say they do so to help people but I don’t think it does help.

Hugs x

Did anyone see Cold Feet yesterday. I found it was a little close to home and I am not sure I will be able to watch it again.
It is probably good to air these things to make people aware but it doesn't really help those going through it.
