how can i vote in the next election

I haven`t voted for a good few years now. Everyone says I should vote, as if I don`t then I can`t grumble. But how can I vote when I don`t believe in any of them?
HOTMT, my grandma used to do that, when they came canvassing at her door, she`d say that she`d vote for whoever picked her up and took her by car to the polling station. They all fell over themselves to do the honours, but she still voted for the same party every time!

We will still have the NHS whichever party wins so I wouldn't take that into consideration at all.

I wrote to my MP and so did DH, about 10 days apart. We both got the stock response so I doubt he even saw our emails!

It would be the first time I have gone into the polling station and written 'I ABSTAIN' right across my ballot paper and I will probably do it again this time because I am fed up with the lot of them. I will go though, I think we have a duty to vote and to give it due consideration before we do. Unfortunately I think the reasons many vote as they do are insufficient. I don't think voting because you think you belong to a certain class or because its the way you have always voted it good enough. I think we should read and listen and try to make a considered decision. When I listen to the people interviewed on the news I often despair at what I hear.

I will vote Liberal Democrat and continue to campaign for electoral reform.

It's a shame that the Lib Dems have lost so much power and aren't seen as a viable alternative. At least they have come out in support of a People's Vote, unlike Labour, sitting on the fence! I was very impressed by Jo Swinson, their deputy leader, on Question Time last week.

I think that when you are deciding who to vote for you should always consider whether you want the NHS to remain the NHS or you want it to be privatised.

To my mind the NHS is the greatest achievement of this country and it would not have happened under any other government than Labour.

At least you got a response petunia. Mine (or his minions) obviously didn't like my comments and suggestion that he wouldn't get my vote next time. We're in a marginal so should be interesting. Like you I can't vote for the opposition though so will probably be some independent.

60 years ago my mother described all politicians as liars.
Nothing has happened since that would make me think otherwise.
She used to vote for the first party to pick her up from home, drive her to the polling station and deliver her home after voting.
I suppose that would be considered a dodgy practice nowadays.
At least Brexit has replaced EDUCATION, EDUCATION, EDUCATION as promised all those years ago by the slippery Bliar.

Totally agree petunia, the only thing that gets me out the door to vote is remembering the amazing women who died so that I can vote. As and when we are asked to vote I’ll talk to as many young people as possible for their opinions as it’s their future we need to be aware of.

I will vote tactically as appropriate to the situation in my constituency. The aim will be to topple the incumbent Tory.

I will not vote in the next election unless there is a miracle and the far left in the Labour Party plus momentum lose their grip on the party
