Is it just me or is Gransnet running very slowly this evening? It's taking 5 seconds for a new page to display and about 15 seconds to add a post.

It's dreadful !!, any hope of sorting it ?

Izabella Mon 14-Jan-19 17:21:10

I am assuming Gransnet shares a server with something that is getting lots of traffic and we are suffering as a result. It would be lovely for HQ to respond though.

ninathenana Mon 14-Jan-19 17:25:06

HELLO, HQ anyone there ?

Has anyone e-mailed them ?

Tweedle24 Mon 14-Jan-19 17:26:31

I thought it was my broadband!

1974cookie Mon 14-Jan-19 17:29:26

Thank Goodness it isn't just me having trouble with Gransnet. I too thought that it was my computer until I opened other posts etc and found that the problem is with Gransnet alone. Even checking out other pages on the same post takes forever.
Please HQ , let us all know what is going on.?.

GrannyGravy13 Mon 14-Jan-19 17:33:16

Marmight Mon 14-Jan-19 17:44:38

Its now worse than yesterday. Maybe they've all got the lurgie and have abandoned ship...

BBbevan Mon 14-Jan-19 18:02:43

Very slow- nearly stopped. Or I give up !

Coolgran65 Mon 14-Jan-19 18:04:56

Doing my head in. I think mumsnet might also be slow!!

Coolgran65 Mon 14-Jan-19 18:06:21

Come on HQ. Someone at HE must have seen this thread. Please tell us what is happening.

BlueBelle Mon 14-Jan-19 18:07:33

If you read back Gransnet do know and have answered Ninathenana just no update

ginny Mon 14-Jan-19 18:23:13

Mine is still dismally slow.

Squiffy Mon 14-Jan-19 19:02:09

It's getting worser and worser!! sad Hope it's running properly tomorrow or I might have to do some housework! shock

Elegran Mon 14-Jan-19 19:03:46

It may be that it is made worse by more posts ( =more traffic) so Gransnet are not using the site to update us so as not to add a bit more to it. Perhaps they can't even get at their end of it to post anything? In their place I think I'd just close the site down completely until it is sorted.

DanniRae Mon 14-Jan-19 19:24:09

Phew what a relief - thought my lap top was to blame!

Jalima1108 Mon 14-Jan-19 19:26:18

Perhaps if we all log off and refuse to log back in again until they've fixed it ??

What about Mumsnet? Is that on a go-slow as well?
I'm thinking of perusing that site (I won't use the word lurking)

Elegran Mon 14-Jan-19 19:31:45

Mine is back to (almost) normal.

Cherrytree59 Mon 14-Jan-19 19:32:43

Jalima MN seems to be fine last night and this eveningsmile

Jalima1108 Mon 14-Jan-19 19:35:43

I'll take a look - is it scary?

Auntieflo Mon 14-Jan-19 19:35:48

??my IPad is working up to a usable speed at the moment ??

BlueBelle Mon 14-Jan-19 20:12:59

Seems to have speeded up now must have been that magic word x

Charleygirl5 Mon 14-Jan-19 21:59:53

Normal service has now resumed here, I will not celebrate too soon.

Katek Mon 14-Jan-19 22:22:43

Someone has obviously stoked the boiler - things appear to be back to normal.

Jessity Mon 14-Jan-19 22:51:28

I gave up earlier but it’s better now, maybe they fed the hamster a decent meal

Auntieflo Tue 15-Jan-19 09:33:57

Thank you GN techies, things seem to be back to “normal” now
