If you're over 50 he's not interested - what's wrong with this man?

To be fair, he's no oil painting. I wouldn't have fancied him anyway when I was 25 but he probably has wealth to entice these young women.
Also, I've read that there are plenty of young men who quite like an older lady.
For myself, I'd rather have a nice cup of tea! ?

Just as an experiment, ladies, join a free dating site and put the age range you're interested in as 50+. The lonely men who are unwise enough to post a recent photo don't often look so good. They're honest though! The photos that make them look OK are often (according to articles I've read) from a decade or so ago. Women do it too, of course.

The OP ask what’s wrong with this man,
Two things immediately come to mind
1. He cannot have a brain ( well not in his head )
2.His ego has clouded his perception ( of himself)
Obviously he has enough assets to attract a suitable match?

I can go along with that too paddyann.

He's entitled to his opinion,I always remember my granny in her 80's telling me she never had another partner after Grandpa died because the thought of "old age crawling over her" made her sick.Grandpa was different because she had grown older along with him but any other older man wasn't for her

Opakoch Tue 08-Jan-19 13:58:11

Well I suppose it depends on how you class someone as a celebrity???

EllanVannin Tue 08-Jan-19 13:56:58

I wouldn't have taken him home to meet mother anyway !

He seems obsessed with "bodies" and "types" perhaps he doesn't consider women as people. I'd quite like a 25 year old body myself as long as I can keep the wisdom and experience age has brought me. When I was 25 I did silly things and didn't appreciate what I had- "Don't it always seem to go that you don't know what you've got till it's gone..."

GrannyGravy13 Tue 08-Jan-19 13:55:19

This is not new, men throughout history have always gravitated towards young women of “breeding” age.

When will they learn that a post menopausal women free from the worry of an unwanted pregnancy are exciting, sexy and generally more experienced.

Yes but tongue in cheek surely ffinochio now Rufus Sewell has sprung to mind mmmmmm

During my time on GN, I’ve noticed quite a smattering of the objectification of younger men by older women.

Chewbacca Tue 08-Jan-19 11:59:31

Chewbacca heaves a huge sigh of relief

Jalima1108 Tue 08-Jan-19 11:54:18

Yes, he is, ginny, probably because, from this brief information, he himself does not appear to be very lovable.

ginny Tue 08-Jan-19 10:51:50

Well, of course he is talking about sex/lust not love.

Jalima1108 Tue 08-Jan-19 10:49:04

He describes the Asian type of young woman - objectifying women indeed!

Let's face it, looking at his photo, he's no catch and, perhaps having publicised his views, young women will be wary of him now.

M0nica Tue 08-Jan-19 10:43:01

Just another man, with his balls where others keep their brains and vice versa.

MissAdventure Tue 08-Jan-19 10:19:16

There's nothing wrong with him having a preference for younger women, and he's probably not the only man to feel as he does.

FarNorth Tue 08-Jan-19 10:17:37

“It’s perhaps sad and reductive for the women I go out with"

Yes it is.
A man objectifying women. Move along. Nothing new here.

Telly Tue 08-Jan-19 10:16:32

I guess the feel is mutual!

Oldwoman70 Tue 08-Jan-19 10:14:34

Reminds me of something told to me many years ago by a "mature" woman who said that a young woman is worth chasing but an older woman is worth catching

MrsJamJam Tue 08-Jan-19 10:04:56

Doesn't know what he's missing, does he? And I should think if we met him he would be deeply uninteresting so he is no great loss to womankind.

TrixieBakes Tue 08-Jan-19 10:02:04

Just saw an article about a French author who says he's “incapable” of loving a woman aged over 50. What does he think the 25-year-olds he prefers think about him?

His name is Yann Moix. I've never heard of him but he seems to be a well-known celebrity.
