I use the main part of my knickers to dry between my toes after my shower as the knickers are fine soft cotton

lemongrove Fri 28-Dec-18 14:12:18

Oh, it’s all coming out now.......tchgrin

BlueBelle Fri 28-Dec-18 14:01:52

My clothes live on the floor at night and.put away after a shower next morning I have been known to wipe the condensation from the inside of the windows with last nights small before putting them in the washing machine

Whichever I pick up first, lemon, as long as it's not a white one!

Maggiemaybe Thu 27-Dec-18 23:18:06

I’m sure we all did! grin

Jalima1108 Thu 27-Dec-18 23:04:49

I hope you left before you had your drink Maggiemaybe

NanKate Thu 27-Dec-18 23:00:24

Maggie ?

I never knew knickers were multi purpose. I wonder about YFronts ?

janeainsworth Thu 27-Dec-18 22:11:55

I just use daily shower spray......

Maggiemaybe Thu 27-Dec-18 22:10:21

Three of us were invited to another colleague’s flat for a cuppa when we met her in town. She collected four dirty cups from the clutter that lay everywhere and rinsed them under the tap. Then casually picked up a pair of knickers (clean, dirty, who knew?) from the floor and used them to dry the cups before pouring our drinks. We didn’t stay long.

After a shower I use my towel to dry off the wall tiles and bath then it's straight into wash.

The shower is over the bath, I hadn't lost the plot.

I use old shower curtains for all sorts of jobs before I finally throw them away, not really a shortcut but I like to reuse when I can.

I will be trying the old shower scrubber thingy on the bath and sink , so thanks for the suggestion.

Jalima1108 Thu 27-Dec-18 21:17:08

I use the net shower scrubber thingy to clean the shower doors - with shampoo. Brings the shower doors up all sparkling clean.
Ps I do use an old one though, not the one I use on me!

lemongrove Thu 27-Dec-18 21:02:58

Yours or your DH’s Pitt ?

Pittcity Thu 27-Dec-18 18:29:53

I don't use knickers but have been known to get a t shirt out of the laundry basket to dust the bedroom.

Buffybee Thu 27-Dec-18 16:49:54

Can't think of any shortcuts at all. I have a clean cloth for everything (never though of cleaning with worn knickers ?)
Although, I re-use clean, old tee-shirts, cut up they make great dusters and window cleaners.
I always have a tea towel and hand towel in the kitchen, which seems normal to me but some people can't get their heads around it.

lemongrove Thu 27-Dec-18 16:31:06

I hope all these shortcuts are just jokes! ?
Elegran once told us a good one though, if you have visitors use the puffed scrub things from the shower to give the sink a quick clean in the bathroom.Really works well.

I've been a terrible " replacer " all my life, so must learn to curb my ways as that way you save more and certainly spend less.
My bedroom tv went off once so I bought another----only to find that one of the cats had knocked an already loose aerial out !

Why do I buy a new watch when all the existing one needs is a battery ?

EllanVannin Thu 27-Dec-18 12:23:50

Hahahahaha my facecloth would have ended up in the bin if I'd washed around the toilet with it----and there's only myself. Then I'd have cut an old towel, as I do, to make another facecloth, much better to use than a thin one.

NanKate Thu 27-Dec-18 12:05:40

You’ve made me come over all unnecessary M0nica.

M0nica Wed 26-Dec-18 12:27:57

I use one of the face flannels to wipe and dust round the bathroom, including loo seat and outside of loo, before chucking it in the washing machine for a regular hot white wash.

Teetime Wed 26-Dec-18 12:21:54

Oh my. I dont have anything like that my short cuts are all about delegating to DH.

sodapop Wed 26-Dec-18 11:56:59

tchgrintchgrin NanKate

DoraMarr Wed 26-Dec-18 11:36:16

I had a friend who used to use her baby’s wet nappy to clean the banister on her way downstairs. When I looked a bit horrified she said “What? It’s just ammonia!”

Grannyknot Wed 26-Dec-18 11:32:28

NanKate that is funny! grin I had a housemate when I was young who had very long hair and she would twirl it up in put her dirty knickers on her head in the bath, as if using a shower cap!

I will often use the bath mat to clean the floor and then chuck it in the wash, but that's about it as far as my own shortcuts go...

annsixty Wed 26-Dec-18 11:31:14

Nankate I laughed so much at that, I had to change my knickers, hope that isn't TMI.

NanKate Wed 26-Dec-18 11:24:52

As you know I listen to local radio and one show was playing the funniest call ins from 2018. The topic was shortcuts, what we do to make life easier for ourselves in our every day life. Here was my favourite, so brace yourself.

Each evening one listener when getting ready for bed takes her knickers off and throws them downstairs. ? In the morning she uses them to do the dusting, saves her finding the dusters. She said it was a family tradition as her mother used to do it.

Do you have any short cuts?
