Once again couldn't make the morning but anyway here I am late afternoon to wish that everyone had a lovely Christmas. Dull and cloudy today with just a int of rain but packed some sandwiches and OH and I embarked on a 15 bike ride which was sociable as well bracing. Back home now, fire lit and dinner cooking.

Morning Mick and All.

After a full on few days with the DSs and DS they have gone to stay with their other grandfather and mother (and no doubt her boyfriend). It’s very quiet here now. So pleased we arranged to stay on with DS as this is the first time without his DSs at the Xmas Holidays.

Grey and relatively mild in the Brighton area.

Have a good day folks

How wonderful Juggernaut to live right beside the sea & the prom. My idea of bliss!

Morning everyone, dull day in mid Hampshire. We are having a quiet day as very manic yesterday!
Happy and sad poignant memories that Christmas evokes for so many of us?

NemosMum Wed 26-Dec-18 11:13:43

It's a beautiful sunny day here in Newcastle-upon-Tyne! I'm just about to gather up all the torn wrapping paper and discarded boxes, and will then set about the preparing the favourite meal of the season, Boxing Day lunch! Poor daughter No. 1 is works at a well-known fashion chain 8:30am - 5pm and says she will be taking returns all day!

Legs55 Wed 26-Dec-18 10:57:49

Didn't get up so early this morning, fed cat & then went out for daily paper no delivery today . Not had Breakfast yet, watching George Gently, later it will be racing from Kempton Park (always watched King George VI Chase wherever we were, DH was a huge racing fan). Football this afternoon too.

After a damp start the sun is trying to break through in Devon, hope for better weather today, yesterday was awful.

Had lovely day yesterday with DD, her OH & DGSs, good food & lovely presents thlsmile

Good morning GNs from a brightish and dry day in the Morecambe Bay area of Lancashire. We have (weak) sunshine and there's little wind. DH & I are heading north for a walk at an RSPB reserve. Wishing you all a happy, healthy, Boxing Day.

Mapleleaf Wed 26-Dec-18 10:47:47

Morning all,
It’s a nice morning outside. A bit chilly but a brightish day.
Hope you all had a good day yesterday. Not a lot planned today, DH still not 100%.

labazs1964 Wed 26-Dec-18 10:14:31

bit of a dark murky day in worcs/shropshire planning a quiet day so wont worry me

Juggernaut Wed 26-Dec-18 10:13:38

Good morning all from a fairly bright west Cheshire. We even have a few patches of blue sky!
Having a quiet, relaxing day today, have already been for a walk along the beach, and am now in my favourite chair with a coffee, watching all the children with their new bikes on the prom!
Have a great day everyone!

Urmstongran Wed 26-Dec-18 10:12:43

Not sure I used the correct acronym there! GGD was supposed to be great grandad. But maybe I’ve used it incorrectly and some might think it’s great granddaughter. I think I’ll stop using them! ?

Urmstongran Wed 26-Dec-18 10:09:23

Morning everyone! I LOVE Boxing Day - even better than Christmas! It’s less frantic food wise and everything wise! I’m looking forward to a huge cooked breakfast about 11am. That said yesterday was lovely. All 9 of us, from GGD down to baby 22 months.
Anniebach why always the special mention to * Auntieflo*? Do you know one another - just curious.
And MaryDoll you said a few days ago that gillybob was taking some time out from GN. I hope she is alright and hope she hasn’t been upset by any messages on here - do you know? I miss her posts actually.

Bobdoesit Wed 26-Dec-18 10:08:45

Same in Somerset, but I too might venture out later...there again...

DoraMarr Wed 26-Dec-18 09:43:53

A quick good morning from Hackney, before I take my very lively eighteen month old granddaughter to the park to give her parents a break. We’re all going to the pantomime later, even eighteen month old (!)
I had a lovely day yesterday. I hope everyone is well today.

harrigran Wed 26-Dec-18 09:13:20

Good morning, it is dry and mild. I had a lie in as DD and SIL were here until 1am and then we did some tidying before going to bed.
Yesterday was an interesting day but today is a rest day, I will watch TV.

Anniebach Wed 26-Dec-18 08:56:07

Hope everyone has a good day x

Good Morning all , cool and dry here . I am creeping about here trying not to waken my sister , she was later home than me last night , we had a lovely time at DS2s house , but the new Karioke machine got a bit too much for me !!! A 7 yr old and a 12 yr old competing to see who can sing the loudest !

kittylester Wed 26-Dec-18 08:45:30

Morning all from a foggy Lancashire coast.

We had a lovely gentle day yesterday with beautiful food served by well trained, friendly staff. We had photos and videos galore and will speak to the children and grandchildren later when they are all together.

There is a cookery demonstration this afternoon, which I will go to, followed by a napkin folding demonstration confused and then a cocktail mixing session- a must, I think.

Enjoy today ,*nina*, Hope all is well.

Good Morning from Brighton. Cold and crisp here.
Lovely day spent with the whole family yesterday.
Today the younger ones are going ice skating and we are watching.

BlueSapphire Wed 26-Dec-18 08:19:47

Good morning everyone. Wellingborough looking rather damp and cold. Did not sleep well last night, surfeit of good food and drink methinks!

Lovely day yesterday with the family, lots of presents, fun and joy. Got through it with only one lot of tears. DH always used to get me jewellery from a particular shop, wrapped in a particular way with silver paper and sealing wax. So DS and DD and their partners did the same - a most beautiful pair of ear-rings, which I shall wear today. But it was the wrapping paper and sealing wax that did for me.... However, tears were soon dried and back to normal.

Just looking forward to a full breakfast, cooked by DD and DSIL, and we will be spending the day at home, playing games, watching tv and enjoying our presents. Hope everyone has a nice day.

Good morning from a grey, mild Colchester.
DD2 stayed with us last night night and forgot to bring a coat, so has just set off to walk to work in one of mine. She manages a shop in town and is looking forward to a day of arguments as they do not take returns on Boxing Day and customers"know their rights!"
We are having a quiet day after a noisy family day yesterday.

Marydoll Wed 26-Dec-18 07:58:09

Good morning Mick and all, damp and dark outside.

Slept badly due to painful hands, ( must have overdone it, raising a glass to my mouth), so I plan to have a restful day.

My DD and fiance have stayed over, so my secret vice of GN has been discovered. They keep coming in to ask what I'm buying online, ( they know me so well), as they heard me on the PC. I have to stop them reading over my shoulder. A girl needs her little secrets. grin

I'm off to search for missing presents. My friend messaged to asked why I had given her a gents, large, black zipper jacket. confused. I have no idea where her beautiful shawl is!
DH is also asking where one of the presents he was expecting is.
I'm going to have a very busy day!!!!!

We had a lovely day yesterday with our family and I hope others had to.

Enjoy your Boxing Day, everyone.

EllanVannin Wed 26-Dec-18 07:41:42

Good morning All x

From what I can see it's dry out, still, dark and quiet, though rarely noisy at any time of the day or night.
Wide awake again at 4am. Why 4am ? My body-clock needs adjusting.

Lovely family time later in the day yesterday and took presents to GGC where D and GS and myself spent a couple of playful hours. They'd all had some lovely presents, very lucky indeed.

A cooking-free day today as I'm doing salad before everything goes limp. Plenty of accompaniments to use too.

Hope everyone got through their day without any undue eventualities. A good rest is in order so take it easy to those who were busy catering yesterday.

Willow10 Wed 26-Dec-18 07:40:00

Good morning all from a dark but dry East Northants. Hope you all had a really good day yesterday as I did. Youngest son cooked a lovely dinner. Wearing my new Fitbit today so I'd better keep moving! Enjoy a peaceful Boxing Day everyone.

NannyJan53 Wed 26-Dec-18 07:38:55

Good Morning from a dark but mild Black Country.

Had a lovely day with family yesterday, I drove over to collect Mum for dinner here. Then we went to DD's for tea, and were joined by my brother, SIL and Niece.

Today, will be rather quiet, as partner is going to his Ex's to spend some time with his twin DD's and I shall go over to DD's again and join them in a walk with the dog.

I hope everyone has a lovely Boxing Day.
