Neither a genius nor a crackpot. Just an artist.

It was an interesting visit - had chats with various folks there -only a handful at about 10.30, but there’s been a steady flow apparently. It’s sad that it’s been felt necessary to cover it in plastic and guard it. He certainly stimulates reaction and discussion

He’s certainly a good and original artist and thinker.
However, it’s caused a headache for the garage owner regarding security, which isn’t what Banksy would have wanted as he likes his art to be accessible.Trouble is, it’s worth a lot ( the crazy world of art and it’s prices!) so has to be guarded.

But surely he must know by now the problems caused by his work. But maybe he and the owner of the premises come to some arrangement beforehand.

I still can’t work out his motives in putting it there really - the local people we spoke to agreed there was a lot of pollution from the steel works, but they also said many, many people work there and wouldn’t want to lose their jobs. I guess drawing attention to the area’s problems might lead to some improvement.

Michael Sheen is helping with the cost of the security , perhaps something will be done to stop that black muck coming down, just think if Banksy had been around in 1966, he may have heard us in Aberfan and saved 128 children.
