Last Christmas I could barely wait for Christmas Day to be over. Not that I don’t enjoy spending the day with family, but because on Boxing Day I was collecting my Rescue Dog.
I had waited 70 years to have a dog of my own and I was so excited, I had been unable to sleep for about a week. She is the most perfect dog and has totally changed my life.
Sometime later, a lady posted on Gransnet asking for advice about whether she was too old to adopt a dog. I commented on my experience and posted a photograph. I then received a pm from another Gransnetter, who told me that the dog had belonged to her daughter. We exchanged a few messages and she said how reassuring it was for her Grandsons, to know that the dog was being loved. I felt so happy that the family could have a little bit of comfort in their bereavement through the power of Gransnet.
Happy Christmas to you all.
