locked phone

Try googling it.

What make is the phone ; do you have the instruction booklet or alternatively, if you've access to the internet try googling the manufacturers website for help. If you don't have access to the internet maybe a well meaning neighbour could give you a dig out? Good thing you have an alternative handset though and I hope you get sorted soon.

As previous posters suggest, Google 'locked xxxxxxxx handset' where xxxxxxxx is the make of handset. For example I found the following link:- community.bt.com/t5/Landline/locked-keypad/td-p/240375

Might be needing new batteries. This recently happened to us .

What a cracking idea. Asking if someone has access to the internet to Google a question when the OP is posting the question on GransNET.

I suggested it merely because sometimes, when things go wrong, it's not always easy to think logically and follow all possible channels. It was meant as a kind suggestion to Aggie and was certainly NOT meant to be condescending in any way! We have all been there, well at least all those who are human and well mannered; things goes wrong and we can't always see the wood for the trees!

Many thanks and apologies for not replying sooner , Christmas sort of got in the way , Teenage Grandson sorted it for me , by accidently (?) dropping it and the batteries fell out , by the time we found all the bits and stopped laughing he told us he had intended taking out the batteries . Anyway it worked on recharging , so the answer was to remove the batteries and leave for a while then recharge , then press the hash key ... ta rah!!!
