I wouldn't trust Corbyn with my enemies hamster!!!! (Not that I have got any enemies that I know of)
He never gives up being stupid.

Does lying make the situation better? It is absolutely patently obvious that you said "silly woman" - one does not have to be able to lip read to see that. Nasty piece of work he is

Never trust a liar ! Enough said.
Eleothan, Profumo lied, Corbyn lied , a lie is a lie .
Elothan - A lie is a lie in anyone's language.
If female MP's especially do not understand that if they can stand back and allow the PM to be called a stupid woman in Parliament without an apology then they have put their cause back and why should anybody feel the need to curb such behaviour on their behalf if they pick and choose who, when and where can be allowed to lie their way out of bad behaviour?
An excellent post POGS - all of it. Very well said.
Eloethan et al who think this is too ha .
So the next time a female MP mentions mysogyny, patronising comments etc. in Parliament or MP's debate the attitude in Parliament re female patronisation etc. they are wasting their time because there are bigger problems to worry about. In other words ' Get over it'. That is how I read some posters comments.
So the next time an MP uses patronising language it should just be accepted?
A Pandoras Box could be opened and that is why Parliament has a code of conduct and etiquette to keep things in check. It fails miserably at the moment and the Speaker has a hell of a lot to answer for.
What would this message be sending to woman who are already being put off becoming politicians because the attitude towards female MP's ?
Andrew Mitchell tried to lie his way out of it when he was accused of calling a policeman a pleb. That ended his political career. Liars usually get found out in the end.
If he said "stupid woman" then I think he should have just admitted it and brazened it out.
In my view, it would be rather rude but it's the sort of thing I would mutter to myself If I was annoyed about something. I don't see why it is considered "sexist". If he said "stupid women", I think that could be described as sexist because it would be directed at women in general. If a woman muttered "stupid man" under her breath, would it be considered sexist? Who on earth says "stupid person"?
I think it's a lot of hoo hah about nothing.
Maytime Are you seriously comparing Corbyn to Profumo?
Bercow is dreadful.
I agree the issues are - using derogatory misogynist language about a female PM and then lying about it.
POGS sets out clearly why it is unacceptable. It isn't ok to dismiss this as part of a concerted attack on JC, he needs to shape up and act more like a trusted leader of HM Opposition. The country needs an effective opposition.
Bercow needs to go - he's lost trust and control.
And with the OP.
I agree with everything POGS has said.
BlueBelle....it matters because it’s against Parliaments own rules.
Secondly, lying to the House definitely matters.
I agree maytime it's the lie that is the issue here. If he had just admitted what he said it would all have been over in no time. As for the Squeaker well .............
My issue with Jeremy Corben is not that he said "stupid woman". but that he lied and denied that he had said it. Other M.Ps in the past have resigned for lying in Parliament, e.g Profumo.
But BlueBelle he was going to bring kinder politics when he became leader
Talk about a fuss about nothing
Nothing at all sexist about saying stupid woman ( it’s a fact) I bet every one of us have said stupid man at some time or other I know i have I m no great fan of Corbyns but he’s dammed whatever he does or says Parliament was like an idiots market yesterday with her screaming like a banshee and a,l the noises from the baying crowd Not an ounce of decorum between the lot of them and Bercow is an awful man
Bloody ridiculous the world falling to pieces and that’s all they can worry about I hold my head in complete despair
This is not as some assume to be a something out of nothing, a Tory rumpus.
The point being missed is female MP's on all sides of the House and to be fair many male MP's have spoken and debated widely on the subject of mysoginy in Parliament.
Many female MP's have spoken of the patronising, sexist behaviour towards them and women in general. Lord knows this year has seen probably the most debate surrounding the attitude towards female politicians I can ever remember.
For the outright hypocrisy of suddenly finding Corbyn is somehow allowed to call the PM a ' Stupid Woman' is not only undermining the work those female and male MP's have been raising in Parliament but shows the shallowness of partisan politics. Shame on them and what respect will the subject of mysoginy receive if they don't do the right thing and state the bleeding obvious?
Before anybody accuses me of partisan politics I would have said the same had a Conservative MP called a female MP a ' Stupid Woman' so I will include the Speaker John Bercow as as being just as ignorant to Parliamentary etiquette as he often crosses the rubicon of Parliamentary behaviour himself. In fact I think Tory Speaker Bercow is the worst of the bunch.
Corbyn has put their cause back by his actions and perversely not so much by what he said as his refusal to accept he did anything wrong. Cowardly or self - serving take yer pick.
So the calling of the PM a ' Stupid Woman' is not the principle problem alone it is the fact the Leader of the Opposition should follow Parliamentary Etiquette and behave himself in a manner that befits his stature and most certainly not lie to Parliament but that point eludes those who on another day, another individual would be saying the opposite than they are now.
Yes I have posted twice but like the copious amount of Brexit threads there is more than one ruddy thread.
He has lied many times
You’re right Lemongrove - it’s the lie that compounded the offence. I think William Hague did the same but he apologised.
Then lied that he had said ‘stupid people’.
Yes, he did actually say something! Sotto voce perhaps, but he did say it.
Nothing JC said would have 'been the end of it', the tories wanted distraction from the mess they were in, and to delay the Immigration debate.
And remember, he didn't actually say anything, it was whoever took the video off the camera and broadcast it who started it all.
Iam64 ??
Parliamentary protocols demand that members do not personally insult each other. All he had to do was say sorry, I was angry, and that would have been the end of it!
It’s always the lie with a politician that really causes trouble.
Hear hear Anja - exactly! Stating a fact.
