So a politician lied! Hold the front page! Oh, they did. I'm still not persuaded that the disputed word was 'woman', but even if it was, all he was saying was what a great many of us, including on the Government benches, agreed with.

It's a reflection of the total mess in the HoC that those two men were restored the whip because they'd vote the "right" way to support TMay.

My objection to what Corbyn said, is that a man who claims not to be a misogynist calls the PM a stupid woman. Then he lies about it. If he'd immediately said - sorry I was so cross about the mess the country is in as a result of her leadership of this government, I was muttering under my breath. I still believe the government to be stupid, I apologise if my use of the word woman offended women.

For those who say she is a woman and she is stupid, read POGs post above, it spells out why the use of that phrase in the HoC isn't acceptable.

The Conservative Party has restored the whip to a man who sent hundreds of sex texts, using violent and highly offensive language. Corbyn mutters "stupid women/people" and you'd think he'd committed murder. How many people can honestly say they've never muttered similar words to themselves about a man or a woman? Some of the behaviour in the House of Commons is, I think, a good deal more unpleasant.

Whatever TM is she is not stupid , she is very clever and tough, she is facing down the whole House of Commons, they are fighting like ferrets in a sack. I happen to disagree with her but I have to admire her tenacity sticking to what she believes in, she is head and shoulders above ineffectual JC. Even if she looses the Brexit vote she will plough on, if we have a second vote the "deal" will still be there.

My friend who lip reads and was raised by deaf parents who mouthed words says he said PEOPLE ,not woman .Looking at the video I would agree as his lips certainly touched twice when he pronounced the second word..But hey the Corbyn bashers will still say its woman ..even if the microphone had picked it up!

Apparently when the public was asked what it thought ,most people agreed he said stupid woman , but didn’t think it was sexist.If a male MP had pretended to be in pantomime JC would probably have called him a stupid man, but it’s the denial that is so objectionable. I think it is the fact he denied saying it that is the problem. Why deny it when it was obvious to everyone. He later lost his temper with a journalist and stated he had said it under his breath!

The whole thing is most unedifying and a disgraceful example of lies and hypocrisy. I do not like JC, but what was the fuss about calling TMay a 'stupid woman' if that is what he thought? he should not have lied, he should have stood by what he said. As to the loons baying from the back bench, it was disgusting and terrifying in equal measures; these fools are supposed to be making decisions, making laws to the benefit of the country, god help us. I keep my final comments for the loathsome and hypocritical Andrea Leadsom who is I believe, responsible for dealing with and investigating claims of racism/sexism etc within the HoC. She had the brass neck to act all puffed up indignation when the JC 'stupid woman' comment was all over the media. Maybe she forgot about the two Tory backbenchers who had their suspensions (both accused of sexual harrassment) lifted in order that they could vote in the May vote of confidence debacle. You couldn't make it up. They should all be ashamed of themselves. My late DF had it right when he described them all as a 'shower of shit'.

There will be a vote , it was put back because Parliament basically told her to bugger off back to Brussels and get better deal! When she tried that they then called her a liar and a coward but forget their own words easily available to view in Hansard , Hypocrisy comes to mind.

Corbyn did the same thing by saying Labour would hold a vote of No Confidence in the government but failed to do so because he was in the exact same position as Theresa May. Both May and Corbyn knew they would loose the vote , both delayed a vote but hypocrisy being what it is only one of them is a liar according to some.

As for the fact Corbyn called May a ' Stupid Woman' you too seem to be very willing to negate the point raised re female and male MP's raising the sexist, mysoginistic , patronising attitude they receive in Parliament.

Just because the accused is Corbyn it is deemed it is OK for this to happen, it is not.

If partisan politics trumps truth, honesty and the etiquette / respect of parliament why should anybody care when female MP's raise the situation again? They like those who elect to pick and choose when /whom to complain about patronising, mysoginy will have shot themselves in the foot.

Hear hear juggernaut but he has just shot himself through one of his two left feet, so interesting to see how he rides this out ( or hides out) until after Christmas.

It's perfectly obvious that he said "stupid woman/women". If he'd just admitted it, he'd have been given a slap on the wrist and it would have blown over by now.
But......he lied, and seems to think we're all stupid enough to fall for it!
It's the fact that he considers us all as inferior that annoys me the most, he's ignorant in the extreme.
How anyone can even consider him as a future PM is beyond me, he's a disgrace!

Just to recap on the lies that Corbyn has told:

1. Corbyn claimed the carriage he was in on a trip to Newcastle was “ram-packed.” But he’d walked past empty seats on the way to creating his spin and he sat down for the last half of the journey.

2. He denied that he’d said article 50 should be immediately invoked. He did say it — the day after, on the BBC.

3. He lied when he said that the Labour Party was polling level with the Tories before the coup.

4. He said membership of the Labour Party at 540,000 was the biggest it’s ever been. But between 1945 and 1980 membership was considerably higher, over a million for a few years in 1951.

5. He told Red Pepper he had had “never had any higher education of any sort,” whereas he, in fact, dropped out of North London Polytechnic after a year.

6. On Saturday 10 August 2018, the Daily Mail published photos from a 2014 ceremony in Tunis that show Jeremy Corbyn holding a wreath “just feet from the graves of terror leaders linked to the [1972] Munich massacre. He denied it by saying "I was ‘present’ for wreath-laying but I ‘don’t think I was actually involved"

7. Denies calling a fellow female MP "a stupid woman", even though lip reading experts confirm that he did say it.

Not a good track record for someone who has aspirations to becoming a PM imo.

4 years ago he was at a wreath laying ceremony in Tunisia , a wreath was laid to honour the terrorists who murdered innocent Olympic athletes , some of these athletes were castrated then murdered.

When asked about him being there he said

‘I was present at wreath laying but I don’t think I was involved.
