Is it me or is anyone else fed up with seeing pictures of Meghan, Duchess of Sussex holding onto her bump, it has been constant since day1 of the announcement.now I am not averse to seeing pregnancy bumps , in fact it can be lovely, but I truly feel it’s almost as if she is acting all the time. It is starting to really grate on me , I wish someone would tell her to stop!!!
On a different note, apparently Meghan speaks Spanish and is brushing up on her French.
What a nice change it will be to have a member of the Royal family addressing people in their own language without an apology before they even start, followed by a few self conscious words in an excruciatingly poor accent then reverting to English.
Silly me, it has just been explained to me what you were suggesting I meant. So wrong , one of my dearest friends is an actor. I had a loving relationship with a black South African priest and also with a lovely man from St.Kitts.
I think the phrase "a woman such as her" sums up what you've said, eloethan: someone rich and married into the royal family. I don't think it was used insultingly or critically.
ruthie, I think everyone who is so much in the public eye has to act to some extent when they know they are on view. Even Diana learned how to act. Thank goodness Meghan has some acting skills.
The men and women who are, by birth or by marriage, part of the royal family are all wealthy, privileged and in receipt of the very best health care. Why do you appear to think that these factors are especially noteworthy with regard to Meghan Markle and justify her being described as "a woman such as her" anniebach?
They don't get congratulated enough for achieving and maintaining a pregnancy
OMG!!! Let's hope this is not the next bloody awful trend!
Women/females (?) of the species, have been having babies since the first bits of the primordial soup!
I am reminded of pregnant women working in paddy fields who literally crouch down, have their babies and then place it on a sling on their backs. (Hopefully today they are given a bit of leave before returning to work.) Whilst feeling very sorry for those who miscarry in pregnancy, please let us not elevate pregnant women to heroic status! Please no!
We have social media to do that for us, plus the gushing press to see Meghan and her bump as something special.
Oh dear, a woman such as Megan, that reminds me of earlier posts that suggest that as an actor, Megan is frankly 'no better than she ought to be'. A saying used here in the north west, by older women when discussing floozies. Well, it was when I was a lass, thankfully, it isn't an expression I've heard for over 50 years.
How would anyone know if she is acting ,? Why are some wanting to inflate the assumption that she must be. ?Have we still not learnt anything from the past? Perhaps those who are critical should take the advice they frequently dish out to others, if you don’t like something, don’t watch it or read about it, to do so just to find a critical element seems to me to be rather spiteful!
