Is it me or is anyone else fed up with seeing pictures of Meghan, Duchess of Sussex holding onto her bump, it has been constant since day1 of the announcement.now I am not averse to seeing pregnancy bumps , in fact it can be lovely, but I truly feel it’s almost as if she is acting all the time. It is starting to really grate on me , I wish someone would tell her to stop!!!

Several of the Windsors speak French

On a different note, apparently Meghan speaks Spanish and is brushing up on her French.

What a nice change it will be to have a member of the Royal family addressing people in their own language without an apology before they even start, followed by a few self conscious words in an excruciatingly poor accent then reverting to English.

We can but hope?

Silly me, it has just been explained to me what you were suggesting I meant. So wrong , one of my dearest friends is an actor. I had a loving relationship with a black South African priest and also with a lovely man from St.Kitts.

So wrong were you not? nasty too

Thank you Baggs

I think the phrase "a woman such as her" sums up what you've said, eloethan: someone rich and married into the royal family. I don't think it was used insultingly or critically.

ruthie, I think everyone who is so much in the public eye has to act to some extent when they know they are on view. Even Diana learned how to act. Thank goodness Meghan has some acting skills.

Teaching skills are often based on acting too.

Anniebach Mon 24-Dec-18 08:19:48

I have explained what I meant , this looking for mud where there isn’t any seems to be a new game.

Eloethan Mon 24-Dec-18 00:28:56

The men and women who are, by birth or by marriage, part of the royal family are all wealthy, privileged and in receipt of the very best health care. Why do you appear to think that these factors are especially noteworthy with regard to Meghan Markle and justify her being described as "a woman such as her" anniebach?

Anniebach Sun 23-Dec-18 19:52:08

Then wrongly interpretating it as being thrown

Bridgeit Sun 23-Dec-18 19:50:44

Yet again , I’m sorry Annie, what does your last comment mean ?

Bridgeit Sun 23-Dec-18 19:46:40

Perhaps not so much looking for mud, rather rightly or wrongly believing/ interpreting it as being flung.

Anniebach Sun 23-Dec-18 19:45:22

Does a woman achieve pregnancy on her own ?

Day6 Sun 23-Dec-18 19:31:58

They don't get congratulated enough for achieving and maintaining a pregnancy

OMG!!! Let's hope this is not the next bloody awful trend!

Women/females (?) of the species, have been having babies since the first bits of the primordial soup!

I am reminded of pregnant women working in paddy fields who literally crouch down, have their babies and then place it on a sling on their backs. (Hopefully today they are given a bit of leave before returning to work.) Whilst feeling very sorry for those who miscarry in pregnancy, please let us not elevate pregnant women to heroic status! Please no!

We have social media to do that for us, plus the gushing press to see Meghan and her bump as something special.

Sigh.

A woman such as Megan yes, wealthy, privileged , healthy , i was responded to ‘

‘ don’t torture ourselves by looking.

I replied ‘ I certaintly don’t torture myself over a woman such as Megan’ ,

Got it now? Why do some look for mud when there isn’t any

Iam64 Sun 23-Dec-18 18:00:05

Oh dear, a woman such as Megan, that reminds me of earlier posts that suggest that as an actor, Megan is frankly 'no better than she ought to be'. A saying used here in the north west, by older women when discussing floozies. Well, it was when I was a lass, thankfully, it isn't an expression I've heard for over 50 years.

Bridgeit Sun 23-Dec-18 17:48:08

A woman such aa Megan ?

Anniebach Sun 23-Dec-18 15:16:03

I certaintly don’t torture myself over a woman such as Megan, I join in discussions and post my opinions , this isn’t torture I assure you.

Bridgeit Sun 23-Dec-18 14:59:30

Well I guess I meant if we don’t like something or someone don’t torture ourselves by looking or reading about them.

Anniebach Sat 22-Dec-18 21:48:52

Bridgeit you said if you don’t like something don’t watch or read about.

Bridgeit Sat 22-Dec-18 21:36:32

Sorry Annie, I don’t quite get the drift of your last post, ?My brain isn’t what it use to be.

Anniebach Sat 22-Dec-18 21:26:49

Bridgeit one can choose to buy magazines but never watch the news ?

Bridgeit Sat 22-Dec-18 21:24:02

How would anyone know if she is acting ,? Why are some wanting to inflate the assumption that she must be. ?Have we still not learnt anything from the past?
Perhaps those who are critical should take the advice they frequently dish out to others, if you don’t like something, don’t watch it or read about it, to do so just to find a critical element seems to me to be rather spiteful!

EllanVannin Sat 22-Dec-18 19:51:34

I don't know how those really older women do it to get in the record books. Surely they must be really drained ?

lemongrove Sat 22-Dec-18 19:10:26

Thinking about pregnancy.....glad I’m way too old for it.

lemongrove Sat 22-Dec-18 19:09:21

Innit though? grin

Iam64 Sat 22-Dec-18 18:56:51

Good job we're all different init smile
