Mr P!

I phoned him recently to say that he would need to drive to were I work, because I couldn't get all of the Amazon delivery parcels in my car.

He asked "why?"

Errm, because the parcels were quite large, and my car (a Smart Roadster) is very small. tchconfused

Then, 2 days later in Lidl, when we had a 6 pack bottle of water in the shopping, I said "I may have to open one of those in a minute"

Again he asked "Why?"

I could have replied that I had forgotten to have a shower before coming out, and was worried that my personal hygiene might not be up to standard, or that my skin was suddenly feeling so dry that only an instant topical application of water would save me from becoming a wrinkled old crone that very moment, but it was actually because I was thirsty!

And breathe...................

Apologies that should be misandry in my above post not misogyny.

Too many misses in this subject. grintchwink

MissAdventure Thu 20-Dec-18 20:40:17

You'd be hard pushed to keep up, Annie. tchwink

Anniebach Thu 20-Dec-18 20:38:39

And I thought I did too many ‘meme’ threads , !

Grandad1943 Thu 20-Dec-18 20:36:57

GrannyGravy13, perhaps the truth of the misogyny on this forum is too much for you and others.

MissAdventure Thu 20-Dec-18 20:32:40

Its strange, because when I showed my many man friends this thread they found it really hilarious.
They all commented how they love women with a sense of irony.

GrannyGravy13 Thu 20-Dec-18 20:24:53

Life is way too short to read long verbose posts!!

lemongrove Thu 20-Dec-18 20:05:05

Get off your soap box.

Jalima1108, Quote [I, too, felt very uncomfortable about Grandad's colleague having her illness posted on GN and perhaps all over the internet for all to see.] End Quote

Jalima1108, your above post is nothing but total rubbish. You and others commenting as like do not know me; are not aware of the company name, do not personally know my work colleague, others that work alongside her or any other details or facts.

The recent posts in this thread are nothing but an attempt to produce a cover for the outright misandry that has been practised in posts in this thread and also in others of the past were cover is always attempted under the guise of being humour.

However, as we found in the office yesterday, those that post in such fashion become targets of laughter in themselves, and rightly so.

Fortunately, as I have already stated we do not know who these male Partners and husbands are due to the anonymous nature the internet when required. That stated, as several of the females in the office said yesterday on reading the posts, how could anyone claim to love their partner or husband and then hold them up for such ridicule, even if it is anonymous.

I also have no doubts that if a man was to I open a thread on this forum and post such misogyny against his wife, partner or any women, the heavens of this forum would open up in condemnation and again rightfully so.

There are those on this forum that should at least attempt to join the standards of the modern world as it has moved on.

And now, just to redress the balance, one of my own!

Ex boss: "One of my ears doesn't seem to be working today"

Me: (somewhat distractedly) "What, hearing wise?"

Ex boss: "Well, I had hoped it might make a start on plastering the crack in the kichen. YES OF COURSE, HEARING WISE!

tchblush

I, too, felt very uncomfortable about Grandad's colleague having her illness posted on GN and perhaps all over the internet for all to see.

Whoever she is, I do hope she makes a full recovery, best wishes to her.

Anniebach Thu 20-Dec-18 17:02:24

I now have some sympathy for Granddad1943, posts epistles about unions, show them to his office staff , they roar with laughter, he glows in their admiration , is paying their wages, and doesn’t realise when they are reading GN, then having a laugh - they are not working

lemongrove Thu 20-Dec-18 16:55:33

I’m glad his postings were cheerful Elegran

Elegran Thu 20-Dec-18 16:54:02

MawBroon A simple matter of wondering who Hellsgrandad is , if he isn't Grandad 1943, and putting the name into the GN search engine. He has posted cheerfully several times, going back as least a year, on various subjects (and usually posts about 4 or 5 lines of text)

Jalima1108 Thu 20-Dec-18 16:20:15

I've just found out that Hellsgrandad is 82, works part-time as a tutor in a university and loves working with young people as it keeps him young.
I wonder if he rides a motorbike?

MawBroon Thu 20-Dec-18 16:17:34

Well well Elegran how did Miss Marple sleuth that one out? (PS I know that is appalling grammar)

MawBroon Thu 20-Dec-18 16:16:25

And if people want to set themselves up as targets by posting outdated pompous and verbose diatribes and if that subsequently amuses and lifts the spirits of others then I too say “so be it”.
