Mr P!

I phoned him recently to say that he would need to drive to were I work, because I couldn't get all of the Amazon delivery parcels in my car.

He asked "why?"

Errm, because the parcels were quite large, and my car (a Smart Roadster) is very small. tchconfused

Then, 2 days later in Lidl, when we had a 6 pack bottle of water in the shopping, I said "I may have to open one of those in a minute"

Again he asked "Why?"

I could have replied that I had forgotten to have a shower before coming out, and was worried that my personal hygiene might not be up to standard, or that my skin was suddenly feeling so dry that only an instant topical application of water would save me from becoming a wrinkled old crone that very moment, but it was actually because I was thirsty!

And breathe...................

Grandad1943

May I refer you to the item in bold in the second line of my post of 20th December. I reiterate it.

BTW, apart from the content of your posts, your grammar is appalling!

To everyone else, bit breezy again, isn't it?

Jalima1108 Fri 21-Dec-18 21:04:21

Yes, Anniebach, but Chewbacca is so kind and not at all misandric so she would not allow Mr Chewbacca to go off to A&E on his own; she would be taking him to get his head bandaged and staying with him, saying 'there, there, dear, never mind, you should have bought the sherry in the first place then this would never have happened'.

Anniebach Fri 21-Dec-18 20:57:12

But Jalima Mr Chewbacca would have to get his head bandaged not Chewbacca, so no matter the day ?

Jalima1108 Fri 21-Dec-18 20:34:41

Nor is A&E on Christmas Day, I can assure you tchshock

Wait until Boxing Day

Jalima1108 Fri 21-Dec-18 20:34:01

Grandad I think GN is shared around the world so I believe many think your posts state far more about you.

Anniebach Fri 21-Dec-18 20:32:21

Yes * Chewbacca*, but a full bottle could kill and Christmas Day in a police cell not the best place to be

Jalima1108 Fri 21-Dec-18 20:29:17

I hope it's a litre bottle Chewbacca and not a mere 70cl

Chewbacca Fri 21-Dec-18 20:12:18

No, its heaviest when full Annie.

Anniebach Fri 21-Dec-18 20:09:22

Wait untill the bottle is empty Chewbacca

Chewbacca Fri 21-Dec-18 20:05:51

I'd like to brain him with it Maw.

MawBroon Fri 21-Dec-18 19:59:10

Any old port in a storm?

Chewbacca Fri 21-Dec-18 19:55:29

Need to vent..... angry

OH: Do we need anything from the shops or are we all sorted now?
Me: We could do with another bottle of sherry; the bottle in the cupboard is almost empty.
OH: I'm going to Sainsbury'slater, I'll pick a bottle up. What kind?
Me: Pale cream please. Or medium dry perhaps.

Just now...

OH: Here's your sherry, hope it's the right one.
Me: It's a bottle of ruby port?
OH: Well, it's the same thing isn't it? No difference.

Àaaaaaaarrrrrggggghhhhhh!

MawBroon Fri 21-Dec-18 19:54:38

Phoenix, Quote [<<<snip>>>how did it go down when you shared it with your "friends" in the office?<<<snip>>>] End Quote

The snip... snip made me tchgrin however!

Anniebach Fri 21-Dec-18 19:54:15

With respect granddad1943. You must be very lonely, after a 12 hour day you choose to go to a pub not go home.

MawBroon Fri 21-Dec-18 19:52:14

??????????
When I once tried to use this for a “thumbs down” it occasioned some hilarity (maybe they should have gone to Specsavers)
Would it do?

FarNorth Fri 21-Dec-18 19:46:20

In other news, it's been a beautiful, clear day here. smile

Grandad1943 Fri 21-Dec-18 19:42:14

Phoenix, Quote [<<<snip>>>how did it go down when you shared it with your "friends" in the office?<<<snip>>>] End Quote

Phoenix, yes, it was shared very widely outside the office, that's why I want it to remain there.

I believe many think that post states far more about you and this forum, than anything stated to me within it.

Anyway, at the end of a twelve hour day, we are off for a pint, so I will hear where it was shared and the reaction then. grintchsmile

Jalima1108 Fri 21-Dec-18 19:37:44

So glad you found my post offensive, Grandad1943 at least I know it was understood.
tchgrin

phoenix Fri 21-Dec-18 19:35:41

An actual knob, or a knob emoji, MissA?!

MissAdventure Fri 21-Dec-18 19:31:45

More chance of getting a knob, I reckon.

phoenix Fri 21-Dec-18 19:29:05

Somehow I think that request would be turned down, Lisagran! tchgrin

However I would really, really like an edit facility, and believe that other members have expressed the same wish.

Lisagran Fri 21-Dec-18 19:23:55

Perhaps you could ask GNHQ for a knob emoji, phoenix. tchgrin

phoenix Fri 21-Dec-18 19:16:22

Barmeyoldbat that is something that we all understand, but it would seem that others don't!

Barmeyoldbat Fri 21-Dec-18 19:10:07

Whatever we say about our OH in humour at least most of us are still married or have been for many years. Its all part of a happy, say going relationship to be able to laugh at each other, something granddad doesn't seem to understand.

phoenix Fri 21-Dec-18 19:00:32

He really is a knob, isn't he?
