What do we feel about his public appeal for contact with his daughter. He says he texts every day but has heard nothing from her since the wedding. Apparently he has contacted the Queen for her help.

Anniebach Wed 19-Dec-18 14:24:18

Yes Jane10, critcise him for doing so , but the hypocrisy here of calling those who critcised Megan vitriolic but nothing about saying those things about the father, why not say ‘ I disagree’ not ‘you are vitriolic’ . Why some have the need for personal attacks is such a pity

Jane10 Wed 19-Dec-18 14:14:59

Anniebach thats a risk anyone takes if they push themselves into the public eye as he has done.

Anniebach Wed 19-Dec-18 14:00:15

Strange how Mr Markle has been called trailer trash, accused of being drunk in a tv interview, accused of being after his daughters money is disregarded but critcism of Megan Markle is vitriolic

eazybee Wed 19-Dec-18 11:08:56

Yes, the Guardian is always available at the gym, because so few people read it.

Lisagran Wed 19-Dec-18 10:35:10

Ha ha merlotgran tchsmile - I love a free read of any newspaper - mind you, the DM always increases my blood pressure! Going swimming later and they often have the Guardian there - in the lounge about area - so I’ll be balanced by the end of the day tchgrin

merlotgran Wed 19-Dec-18 10:08:38

It wasn't the cartoon that made me chuckle but Lisagran's insistence she is NOT a DM reader. grin

Anniebach Wed 19-Dec-18 10:02:16

Naughty ?

Sparklefizz Wed 19-Dec-18 09:50:45

Love it Lisagran ... actually laughed out loud!

Lisagran Wed 19-Dec-18 09:40:41

I’m NOT a Daily Mail reader, but this cartoon is in today’s DM - on my table in the coffee shop

Anniebach Wed 19-Dec-18 08:48:56

Iam64. ‘Vitriolic unpleasant side * ? Thank you , and ‘snap’

Iam64 Wed 19-Dec-18 08:44:46

janipat, some folks seem to enjoy letting their vitriolic unpleasant side out to play, with MM seen for some reason as fair game.

Anniebach Wed 19-Dec-18 08:19:19

Janipat, ‘leaving you speechless’. ?

Jane10 Wed 19-Dec-18 07:40:36

janipat this side of 'the pond' we don't venerate 'slebs' the way people your side of the pond seem to.
As previously stated. This sort of thing is to be expected if Harry exercised such poor judgement as to marry a divorced actress. The Prince and the showgirl?!

Pythagorus Wed 19-Dec-18 00:22:01

I don’t care a jot about the new Duchess’s father, mother or any of her family. Not interested in her, her bump or anything about her. I find this press obsession most odd .... there must be more interesting things to report in the press.

janipat Tue 18-Dec-18 23:41:14

I'm no Royal sycophant, believing most of them are an unnecessary expense, but the animosity and downright hostility displayed by Anniebach and co leaves me speechless! Question every supporting post of why the estrangement has happened but believe every single quote by Mr Markle and her step-sister? You have to be obsessionally anti Harry and Megan to take that stance. I don't know the full story, as do none of us, but there seems to be a whole lot of venom coming across the pond, and I just cannot believe it's all deserved. I trust children's instinct. From what I can see children are drawn to Harry and Megan.

Davidhs Tue 18-Dec-18 20:58:30

Very difficult for her, she will be damned if she doesn't contact him but if she does every word is likely to be publicised. In addition it could open a can of worms, a never ending emotional blackmail campaign that the media would love.
Probably least worst option is no contact

Anniebach Tue 18-Dec-18 20:31:15

Sparkle I have been waiting for the press to have a hand writing expert to say the letter written by her in 2015 addressing him as Darling Daddy was not her hand writing.

I wish he would stop these interviews, accept she will not contact him and get on with his life . But I think calling him trailer trash as a poster has done was uncalled for . If he is one wonders about the mother marrying trailer trash

Both parents paid for her private education, letting her down?

Money isn't everything, Anniebach. A child can be let down emotionally in much more harmful ways, as my own children could testify re their father.

Sparklefizz Tue 18-Dec-18 20:22:02

It's interesting, is it not, that his son has been estranged from Mr M since 2011 but has been apparently trying to reconcile since the wedding.

Sparklefizz Tue 18-Dec-18 20:20:51

Well put Iam64.
Perhaps it is only those of us who have encountered someone like Mr M who can see through him.

Anniebach Tue 18-Dec-18 20:07:08

Iam64 Tue 18-Dec-18 20:05:27

Ok sides seem to be being taken, so I'll line up with sparkle fizz and foxyloxy and everyone else who has suggested Mr M may not be his own best representative on earth.

Most of us will have known or even been related to people who we eventually realise won't change. It doesn't matter how well we behave, how hard we try to mediate, to resolve conflict, how often we believe 'it's going to be ok, s/he gets it now" - only to find things get worse, not better. It seems to be to be naive, to say the least to think that if MM or Prince H, or indeed anyone from or representing the RF attempted to smooth things over with Mr M, that all would be well. His track record strongly suggests he'd be off to be interviewed by the Highest Bidder. His other delightful adult children, could then also be interviewed, could write endless column inches in which they put their own spin on whatever it was alleged had been said to Mr M.

Anniebach Tue 18-Dec-18 19:58:04

Sparkle, it is fair to say ‘we have no idea how many times he let her down as s child* ? As we have no idea the answer could be ‘ not once’ .

Foxyloxy Tue 18-Dec-18 19:57:23

Ah! Some people will do anything for attention. You can’t make a silk purse out of a sows ear. He wants some of her limelight. God forbid if he was my father, I would be whispering some words in his ear, and they would be blue.?

Sparklefizz Tue 18-Dec-18 19:48:10

The Daily Mail have photos taken of him buying junk food when he was still claiming to be in hospital.
