I'm surprised that this storm on Merseyside hasn't been broadcast very much. It must be causing damage in a few places as when those winds pick up it's sounds like a roar.

I sat and watched part of the building where I am floating past the window. It looks like part of a frame from a window so I'll have to ring the repair men on Monday to get it seen to. It's horrendous here.

A late good morning from a rainy and bitterly cold Black Country,

Was in town for 8.30 to get a decent parking spot. Collected DD's 40th birthday cake, a few bits and pieces from Tesco, and home by 9.20 smile

Have homemade vegetable soup simmering for lunch.

Had a lovely Christmas meal yesterday in Shirley with friends, and partner had his work Christmas meal in Birmingham, so no cooking last night!

Catch up on housework today, then relax this afternoon. All my Christmas shopping is done, just waiting for one more item to be delivered.

Have a good Saturday everyone.

Good Evening All;
Urmstongran: I take it you will not be off to Etihad to see City thrash the "Toffees" today! tchgrin We will be getting it "live" shortly (11.00pm), so I hope your weather doesn't ruin things. Expect to see the crowd rugged-up! Go City!

Good morning All x
Oh the weather ! So stormy here and have spent the morning retrieving fallen objects outside. Empty bins , next doors flower pots scattered its pebbles over her front ( she's away ) my own oleanders fallen and I was perished.

Was going to go to the bank but it'll have to wait as I can't risk being blown away. Being so near the sea is what does it. Don't fancy the sailings today ! Poor passengers.

Finishing writing cards a couple of letters and a phone-call today. Not heard from a lifelong friend who I trained with in the 50's---not looking good.

Hope all is well with everyone take extra care with these winds.

Morning all. Bitterly cold and plans to put up outside lights shelved due to very high winds. The snow is not here yet but the gritters are out. Tonight is the Strictly final - love the music. Have a good weekend all.

Good morning everyone from a cold but so far snow-free Birmingham. I was up at 6.30 this morning with an aching hip. Nice cup of tea and some stretches helped. Baby grandson woke at 7.30 and he’s having his morning sleep now, so i’ll have my shower and get dressed- have spent the morning on the floor playing with him. My daughter’s office has a Christmas fare, with free food, so we’ll all go to that, then I really ought to buy some Christmas presents!

Good morning all, from a very frosty, wet & windy west Yorkshire..
Amber warming here too, so once i can drag myself out of this warm bed, i will be wrapping presents & cleaning! The grandchildren are coming for strictly & takeaway this evening, so it's possible i may not leave the house today..
I hope you have a lovely day ?

Auntieflo Sat 15-Dec-18 09:18:00

Morning Mick, morning Annie and all. It's cold here, but dry, and I am still in bed with my early morning tea, but must get a wiggle on as we are due to meet up with friends for coffee later.
There is free parking in town on Saturdays, up until Christmas, so I expect everywhere will be packed.
I had a good day baking yesterday, and made a meat pie for supper. Also a date and nut loaf cake and some double chocolate muffins, which I have frozen for later, after DH sampled one of the muffins, he said they were good.
Have got to buy some more wrapping paper today, as on line deliveries are due soon.
Enjoy your weekend one and all.

harrigran Sat 15-Dec-18 08:59:55

Good morning, very cold but dry here, none of the promised rain or snow.
Got half of GC's presents wrapped yesterday plus three lots of birthday gifts sorted.
DS has holiday to take so no childcare needed for the coming week, just as well as I have all sorts of appointments. Why do health appointments always occur at the busiest week of the year ?

oldgaijin Sat 15-Dec-18 08:57:01

Greetings all from a grey and windy Aberdeenshire...there's an amber weather warning.
Had a barney with Debenhams yesterday...they have cocked up two deliveries of an order placed on 30th Nov. For a biker jacket for my granddaughter's birthday, which was yesterday. Told them to to give me a refund and I ordered the same from Amazon which should arrive today. Result = 1 satisfied Grannie, 1 disappointed wee girl, 1 less customer for Debenhams.
Have a good day all and keep safe.

Good morning from a grey, cold Colchester.
I have no plans except to clean and tidy after having a 3 year old here this week. He's not back again until Thursday.
Everyone else is out tonight so I can watch the Strictly final in peace.

Good morning everyone. Still dark here in Northampton, but snow is on the forecast.

Younger DGD being dropped off this morning as dad is working, elder DGD performing in panto and mum is chaperoning at same panto. Planning to make some chocolate gingerbread biscuits with her, not made them before so a bit of an experiment! Luckily she loves baking. May then find a Christmas film to watch.

Had a lovely card and order of service yesterday from late DH's cousins. They had been to a service to remember those loved ones who had died , and had put DH's name on the list to be read out. I was most touched by their kind thought and got quite emotional reading through the order of service; some of the readings were so beautiful, and gave me a lot of comfort.

Must get a move on, and get ready for DGD! Hope it's good day for all.

Good morning all x

Cold and bleak in SE Essex.

Very stressful night, GS came into me at about 12.30am with headache and high temperature, so very restless managed to get him off to a proper sleep about 4.30am (arms wrapped round my neck). He has just woken up I am exhausted ?

His Mum is back late tomorrow and he will FaceTime her later which will cheer him up.

Stay warm and safe everyone.

Off to meet my sister this morning for coffee and some shopping. We may pop into the local church as they have a xmas tree festival this weekend. If we go will offer up a pray for my little brother. We are going to a carol service tomorrow evening which may bring a tear or two. It looks cold outside but at least it is dry at the moment. Have a great day what ever you are doing everyone.

Grammaretto Sat 15-Dec-18 08:02:48

Good morning from a normal dark December day. The calm before the storm? We were promised icy rain and black ice in the Scottish Borders so maybe a day to stay home.
Have a good day everyone wherever you are.

dragonfly46 Sat 15-Dec-18 07:58:01

Morning. Coffee with friends this morning and then some kind friends are taking me to lunch.

Willow10 Sat 15-Dec-18 07:56:42

Good morning all from a cold, dark East Northants. Yesterday was a housework and car cleaning day, so I'd like to get out for a bit of food shopping today - otherwise I go cabin crazy! I think it is going to be very cold though, so I'll try to get out early and back to the warm. Take care everyone and keep warm if possible!

Sar53 Sat 15-Dec-18 07:50:47

Good morning everyone from a very cold Essex by the sea. A disturbed night here. Not much planned today, a few errands to run and then an afternoon in the warm.
Stay warm everyone today.

NanKate Sat 15-Dec-18 07:46:16

Morning Mick and All.

Rain due for most of day here in South Bucks. Must get moving soon as I try to get a short walk in each morning before I start on the days events. I may have to wear my waterproof trews, they cost me £10 and are worth every penny.

Wrapping, wrapping, wrapping is on the agenda today.

Hope the snow isn’t too heavy in your area Mary. Enjoy the film with the girls Kitty. Mick enjoy the carnival.

mokryna Sat 15-Dec-18 07:38:26

Morning all from a very cold Versailles but the sun is just coming up in a cloudless sky. Off to market to order the chapon.

Greyduster Sat 15-Dec-18 07:36:56

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Our heating kicked in early this morning without any help from me, so I suppose that just about set the tone for the day in South Yorkshire. Snow is forecast for later. GS is coming today for an overnight, but this morning he is running in a cross country and we may bring him over straight after that to try and beat the weather. How we get him back tomorrow will be another matter! Corner I am thinking about you. I think my gnashes are coming out in sympathy!

NfkDumpling Sat 15-Dec-18 07:31:07

Morning All

Here in Norfolk its dark, still and there must be high cloud still as there’s no stars. No meteorite showers visible here.

Nothing planned for today except for present wrapping and ironing. I can’t go far - I’ve eaten too much of the French apple flan left over from our lunch with friends ...... I’ll not say more!

I hope all went well yesterday Annie.
