Such innocence is such a joy. It really does warm the heart in this crazy world of despair

A long time ago now because DGD2 has just had her eighteenth birthday but I remember picking her up from nursery school just before Christmas and singing along to, 'I saw Mummy kissing Santa Claus.' on the car radio.

A little voice of outrage from the back seat shouted, 'Well, if I saw Mummy kissing Santa Claus, I'd tell Dad!'

The things kids say.
When my GGS was 7 he was talking about dinosaurs so I said I remembered the dinosaurs, meaning the different species, but he was quick in saying " wow,do you ?" I didn't know whether to laugh or cry imagining him to think I was some Methuselah. I did laugh to myself for ages after.

DH and I keep laughing at our 10 year old DGD’s comments yesterday. She was in the supermarket and was looking at a pack of toddler size nappies. ‘Those are for boys when they have wet dreams’ she told mum. DD asked very apprehensively what she meant by a wet dream. ‘It’s when a boy goes to sleep and dreams about a waterfall and then does a little wee in his sleep’ came the reply. Oh the innocence of youth!
