Something a bit wooo just happened

Chewbacca. I have twice bought new prescription sunglasses and packed them in my suitcase to take to Australia. On both occasions they were not in my case when I arrived, and have not been seen since, in either country.
I also bought a Terry Pratchett book called Pyramids, as part of a gift, and put it in the wardrobe where I store gifts until they are needed. That, also, vanished from the face of the earth!
Nothing so weird has happened since, but not knowing how they disappeared is a constant niggle at the back of my mind.
Your 'happenings' are even more spooky, and I can't think of a rational explanation for them. I don't believe in the supernatural, but there are some things that just don't seem to have any other explanation. Maybe there is a ghost sitting somewhere, in a sunny garden, wearing my sunglasses and reading Pyramids!

Earthquake might have knocked off the ornament but wouldn't explain the clock. I'd guess the clock was one of those radio controlled ones. I had one once, but it was too creepy, every now and again the hands would start whizzing around backwards, stop at the wrong time for a couple of minutes then start their whizzing again. It might as well have been haunted for all the rhyme and reason to it and it was NEVER anything like the right time, making it the least accurate clock I ever had

We have a silver hare that periodically throws itself of the shelf. We think it's the floor vibration as you move about that makes it work its way to the edge and off. Thankfully being silver it doesn't break.

Things happen in my small flat. I also hear voices, well so do other people so it is not in my head. I called in 2 Mediums from the spiritualist church to come and see if they could pick up on anything and yes they did.
this doesn't frighten me , they said they could have 'cleared' the flat if I wanted but as I wasn't upset by it they would leave it if I wanted. I said yes definitely leave it. A neighbour has heard the voices and so has my sister when she stayed here , 'they' even moved her heavy suitcase during the night, she thought I had fallen over the 'thump' was so loud, but it was her suitcase. It was impossible for the case to have fallen as it was laying down on a flat surface with all her things inside.

someone trying to tell you something? know of anyone who passed on at that time? or maybe your dressing gown caught the hare as you swept past.the clock hands maybe the spring got a little damp...and loosened them. who knows .early in the mornings whoooooooooo......????

The house I grew up in was built in 1850 and had lots of 'odd' things that used to happen. Our kitchen door used to open and close on its own - a neighbour laughed when Mum told him about it but he wasn't laughing when, one evening, he was sat chatting to Mum and the door did its parlour trick in front of him. One evening Dad was sat in the kitchen and the door swung open but didn't close. Shut that bloody door, Dad shouted from behind his paper, obligingly our 'ghost' slammed it closed. An old house with wonky hinges on the door maybe? Possibly, but odd how the door closed as well as opened!

What’s all this about hares, suddenly? I spent ages the other night looking at charity Christmas cards online and was amazed to find quite a few with hares on them. Have never ever noticed that before. Is there some seasonal connection? I wasn’t aware of one (except, I suppose, the mad March hare).

Lots of practical, simple explanations here. But I do think it's worth considering a more spiritual explanation - just in case you find it sits better with you. As moggie57 has said, do you known of anyone who has passed at 6.30 a.m. ? Are you in touch with the wider family - would you know if someone had passed there? Do you have a close friend who may have passed at that time. Or it could even be a way of signalling a birth! Do you know anyone who hated the hare ornament? Or can you find a deeper meaning to the symbolism of the Hare (I think in Celtic mythology it was thought to represent fertility / rebirth / resurrection?) Might be worth playing around with ideas and see if any of them fit for you. I've certainly had "a visitor" in the past who moved things around - it's nothing to be scared of; it's just a way of them trying to communicate an urgent message (sometimes!) And, no, I'm not crazy - I just think there's more things in heaven and earth than we humans really understand (and to think that we know everything is just ego and arrogance).

Things broken in our house...not by me....so I ask husband...”no” says he “why do you always assume it’s me”...ahh because I know I didn’t do it!! He will NEVER EVER admit to any breakage!! It’s so annoying...I think he used to get hit as a child if he broke anything and now just can’t can’t ‘own up’ to even the smallest breakage. And he know I just shrug and move on , no hysterics or blame attached. In my upbringing it just didn’t matter!!

I know sudden changes in temperature can stop a clock but not cause the fingers to loosen. With the ornament as well it's like some sort of vibration going on ? Not an old defunct mine beneath the house is there ? Some shifting going on.

The word I was looking for is subsidence.

Did you put all the lights on when you woke in the night. If not and if you were a bit dozy half awake, perhaps you brushed past the hare so it moved slightly, then the hands dropping due to the loosened nut caused a bit of vibration so nudging the hare off the shelf?

Could the vibration of the clocks fingers dropping to 6.30 have caused the poor hare to have a shock and fall off ??

Oooooh, went all cold and shivery when reading your original post, Chewbacca! Does the time at which the clock stopped have any significance? Wish I didn’t feel so cold! Woooooo......

Ok I have thought up an explanation that can cover both. Mouse or large spider - some spiders are so heavy you can actually hear them walking. So, if this spider or mouse managed to get onto the clock face their weight could have pulled the clock hands down (note they were both pointing down to the 6, significant of weight/gravity) rather than some other time when someone might have died for example. This same mouse or large spider could knock the ornament off.

There are rational explanations for all the aforementioned 'goings-on'.
Things certainly do not disappear out of closed suitcases unless they are manually removed.
As for the hare and the clock. The likelihood of the hands working loose is the most feasible explanation and a small tremor could have nudged the hare off the mantlepiece. Not rocket science. You can check, via Google, whether tremors have been reported in your area.

I think the ugly hare got jealous and a fight ensued, he jumped up onto the clock hands pulling them down to half six position and from there launched himself on top of the attractive hare, knocking him off the shelf onto the floor.

Watch out for what he gets up tonight, he now has a taste for killing. Hide your precious ornaments inside a locking china cabinet - that'll put a stop to his antics!
