Glad you used the word 'qualified', but when looking for a counsellor it would be wise to check people's professional 'credentials' as there are a whole host of counselling courses that, of themselves, may not lead to accreditation. As a minimum, I would say that it would be good to have someone who has BACP Membership, but ideally you want someone who is MBACP Accredited. There is no charge to search the BACP Register. Good luck with finding the right person, but do be careful about online advice.
