Another new BT scam

Scammers use a different phone number each time they call, most of the numbers are not genuine anyway.
The worst scam call I ever had showed my own phone number as the caller and spooked me initially thinking someone was ringing from the extension.

I get these calls regularly too . Best advice is to ignore and hang up . Don’t whatever you do press any numbers (they will be premium loaded ) or enter into dialogue .

Anyone can sign up for the TPS, not just BT customers but it doesn't stop calls from outside the UK, doesn't actually stop all UK calls but at least you can tell them they are breaking the law!

We get them all the time from 'TalkTalk'. DH shouts and switches them off, I have been known to tell them I'm going to look at my router and just leave them hanging on. One of them called back and asked me if I was stupid, I agreed and said I was!

I had one the other day, an Indian accent, I asked why he was calling and he said "I can't tell you it's a secret !!! " I put the phone down.

I use number blocking but they insist on using a differant number, they always ring when I'm about to sit down for a meal !!

I block the number each time I receive one of these calls but they use a different number every time. So annoying!
I find nuisance calls come flooding in for a week or two, stop for a while and then start up again about a month later.

I had one too yesterday, I just put the phone down. Not had any calls from Windows lately, they used to phone regularly.

Twice today I was called by someone with a think Indian accent, claiming to be from the Telephone Preference Service. They were offering an enhanced service. I pressed my block button before they asked me for details to charge me. The TPS do not call customers!

Just for a bit of information if you are with BT you can join the preference service, this will stop calls withheld numbers and you can add numbers to a blocked list.

Yes, I had this call just as I was rushing out last week. I just hung up, but it does annoy me that there are people out there taking advantage of possibly vulnerable people in this way. Surely it should be pretty easy for a watchdog organisation to track them down and stop them!

That's not new it's been annoying me for months.

The phone rang this afternoon and an automated message said it was BT and our broadband would be disconnected today. Press 1 if this was in error or 2 to speak to someone. I hung up and looked online to see several other people have had the same call - some are an automated message or others have been a person with an Indian or a Canadian accent. No doubt if you press 1 or 2 you get through to a premium number!
