All good friends and jolly good company.
Welcome and thank you all for your wonderful company.
dragonfly Sorrywith the news about panache's husband I quite forgot to wish you luck with your biopsy tomorrow. I hope all goes well.
grannyqueenie I agree, what Panache needs is practical help, I cannot believe that none is forthcoming. All I can think of is that 999 was dialled so the surgery is unaware of the dire straits she is in.
Oh my word just read the news about MrP how sad for such a devoted couple to be struggling like this. This is when we all wish it was a “real” kitchen where we could pop round the corner and offer a helping hand.
I don't know what prompted me to check in here tonight before bed and now I see the dreadful news from Panache. I can't begin to imagine how they are coping - Mr P in hospital no doubt worrying about dear Panache and vice versa as well as all the practical issues this throws up. I so wish there was some practical help we could offer. My thoughts are with them both tonight
I'm also sending love and best wishes to Panache and MrP, I really hope that help is forthcoming for them
So sorry to hear about MrP. Sending positive thoughts and prayers to them both.
cornergran my goodness what dreadful news. Thank you for letting us know. If you have the opportunity please pass on our love and tell her we are thinking of her. To have no one who can help is a dreadful situation to be in. Poor Panache and Mr P both in my prayers too.
What dreadful news about Panache and her DH. They are so dependent on one another and I can't imagine how she is going to cope with him in hospital. I hope they got to him in time to give the clot-busting drug. I wish we could organise a posse of grans to go down there and organise support for them. Love and good wishes don't stretch far enough, but I'm sending them anyway.
Something prompted me pop into our kitchen. Panache, I am truly sorry to learn of your husband's stroke. This must be heartbreaking for you. We all admire your amazing spirited approach to all manner of distressing events in your life. Please remember that we all care and send you our best wishes.
I send my best wishes and love to panache and Mrp. As if they didn't have enough troubles now!
I’m so sorry to hear that about Panaches husband . What a terrible thing , they will definitely need some help, I hope something can be arranged xx
I feel so sad for the Panaches my H had a stroke in April and I remember how helpless I felt and so fearful and I was relatively fit and able.
I pray for them both.
How sad , I pray for them
I add my prayers and best wishes for Panache and Mr P.
What terrible news.
Thinking of Panache and Mr P who are clearly devoted to each other and up till now have been very independent. It is indeed a sobering thought isn’t it when you have no family or even close friends when disaster strikes.
Oh dear.
Oh poor Panache. I can’t imagine the worry of it all when there are no family to help. I think some kind of accommodation with help is urgent for P & Mr P. I am so glad she let us know.
DGS has finished his first term at school, as white as a sheet with exhaustion. Already asleep ?. DGD has eaten nothing all day and refused to nap. She too is asleep but I fear this will not last. Off to write the last of my cards before she wakes!
Oh my heart goes out to them!
Absolutely dreadful. Wishing them much love. I cannot believe NO help is available for them, just wish I was closer
OMG corner that is dreadful. Panache appears to need a lot of practical help apart from the minor fact she needs food and liquids.
I also thought the photos were paintings but what do I know about anything.
The land will slowly go back to what it was like yesterday until the council is notified again and they apply the heavy hand of the law.
Oh Corner that is dreadful news from Panache. Just when they seemed to be getting back on their feet.
There is so much suffering out there at the moment. I wonder if the New Year will be any better.
Have a good evening everybody.
My God what an awful thing to happen! Thank you for passing that on, Corner. I shall send up a prayer to Dewi Sant and I will have everything crossed for them both.
Hello again everyone
I’ve some very disturbing news to pass on.
Panache has been in touch and asked that I explain to you all that her husband has been taken to hospital after experiencing a stroke. When she wrote he had been robbed of his speech.
Understandably she is struggling with emotional and practical issues. She assured me she has asked for practical help but none was forthcoming. I can only hope that situation changes.
I’ll let you know if I hear any more, panache explained she is unlikely to manage the kitchen at the moment
So sad for them both.
A major senior moment. I signed off believing it was Friday tomorrow. Wrong! Won't be care home visiting. Tut! I shall be in the kitchen during the morning.
Lovely photos corner. I thought that they were paintings.
Once again, goodnight dear Granspals.
Soop that burn looks very angry and I hope it is, as you say, on the mend.?
Corner we spent a day in Wells a couple of years ago on the way down to Cornwall and both fell in love with the place. Pleased you had a good day out! Must put a return visit on my to do list. We are heading down to Cornwall next Christmas, Deo Volente, so perhaps then!
Well that’s official then! I am a pain in the backside. I had an appointment with my GP today. Can there be anything less guaranteed to boost your morale than a very handsome doctor with his finger up your backside? Answers on a postcard please! Anyway nothing serious but I am not destined to be comfortable for some time, so I hope you will forgive me if I am occasionally a Grumpy Grey.
I wish all a peaceful evening and sweet dreams.
Goodness busy kitchen today.
soop if that’s your burn healing it must have been horrific before. Pleased today went without incident. The cake is a very kind gesture, hope it tastes good.
Superb Christmas jumpers n&g. The carol concert will be magical I’m sure. What could go wrong?
Eyes are a worry greyd, can only hope your husband is sensible. We’ve a friend waiting to hear if she will lose the sight in an eye, she’s understandably twitchy.
Delighted to hear it isn’t just me who struggles exiting a bath. I did suggest to one hotel they provided s bath stool, the young, slim receptionist thought I was more than silly.
.
My shower moment was staying with friends one New Year, I only touched the shower head, honestly, somehow the whole thing lept off the wall. Oops
Hello oldbstty, we’ll always listen if it helps.
Sounds good news charley, what will happen to the piece of land now? Will it be maintained? Pleased you enjoyed your coffee session, it is as an advert said good to talk.
Plotting something greyd? Surely not, too angelic for that
Wishing you well for tomorrow dragonfly.
Had a good day out today. Christmas market, Wells Cathedral and the Bishops Palace and a lovely lunch, with chips, observing the sleigh and reindeer. I’ll try to attach a couple of photos. Could take a while
Take care everyone, wishing you a relaxed evening.
I am hoping that I haven't overlooked anyone. I hate doing such a thing. It's dark and I need to take Tabitha's mat and supper to the chalet. We haven't seen her for over a week. Sigh. Never give up. Not in our nature.
Take good care one and all. After care home visit tomorrow, I shall call in to join you yet again in our kitchen.
