I love the sound of those birds. I was in my element with the local wildlife in Oz and used to hand-feed the kookaburras by wiggling bacon rind for them on the balcony at my daughter's house.

Wonderful news! My faithful Maggie couple today paid me a visit accompanied by one offspring. They've been flying off with food for ages, but now all they have to do is shovel it down it's beak on our back patio. Glad as I am to welcome them, I was hoping to see a clutch of nippers at first; this one is nearly as big as Mum and Dad and will soon be bigger, the rate at which it's putting it away!
So despite our terrible weather, it's turned into a "cup brimming over day" grin
