What have ^you^ got plugged in this morning?

Forgot to mention daughter`s hi-fi the other day. Like I said in my own defence, they`re not all switched on, but they have to stay plugged in as I find it difficult to get down and unplug most of thjem.

Forgot to mention a 'fridge, oven, hob and freezer!

At this very moment (11am), I've got plugged in:

2 mobile 'phones, the washing machine(on), tumble drier (on), 3 lamps, computer, 2 printers, 3 cordless handsets for the landline, speakers for the PC, a cordless Dyson, 1 TV, dvd player, dishwasher(on), a floor lamp, a hairdryer, fish tank pump, electric tin-opener, toaster, kettle, sink waste-disposal unit, iron (been using)

I do not charge appliances overnight as I am afraid of them catching fire. Also, I wouldn't run a tumble dryer or washing machine overnight.

stree, as midgey also asked, what on earth is a "cheese sharpener" and what are "ear lights" and how do they help you find your dogs in the cellar? I feel there is a gaping hole in my education somewhere.

I know about sharp flavoured cheeses such as cheddar but how is this done electrically? Do you give the cheese a zap and tell it to sharpen up or else? And the images I have of you looking for your dogs in the cellar with lights beaming out of your ears is getting more bizarre by the minute. ?

2 xTV, 2xdvd, CCTV, phone, laptop, reclining chair, Lifeline, digital photo frame, display cabinet lights, kettle, toaster/George Foreman alternating,
microwave, bedside lamps x2, will soon be adding Christmas tree to the list, oh, fridge freezer!

Buffybee our last dishwasher went on fire at night time, luckly smoke alarms went off and thankfully we hadn't yet gone to bed.

My OH unplugs everything at night but not the freezer, fridge or phone. It would seem that it saves on the electric. All other things are charged when needs must.

Only had kettle, microwave, laptop & tv on this morning. Washer/drier plugged in & socket switched off, never use it overnight or if I'm going out. Chargers are never used overnight or when I'm out.

Only things permanently plugged in are SKY box, tv, cordless phone & Broadband box. TV is unplugged when I go away. If course fridge/freezer is plugged in which idiot switches it off unless it's empty

Smoke detector is "hard wired" & yes it works!!!

Me too. Not to do so makes no sense, not financially, environmentally or for safety reasons.

Economy 7 is not economical if the house burns down!

Do it over night.im on ecconomy 7.it costs less

We are the same as Buffeebee. everything is left plugged in permanently, phones and tablets are charged overnight. We often load and run the dishwasher just before we go to bed, but I never do washing or drying overnight - too noisy. It would drive me nuts to unplug/replug things every day, and our TV loses settings and channels if it's unplugged or if there's a power cut. We regularly change the smoke alarm batteries and our electric account is usually in credit so we'll take our chances.

I make sure my phone and kindle fire are charged before I go to bed. Occasionally I put the dishwasher on at bedtime. I leave the tv on standby overnight and the washing machine and tumble dryer are plugged in but not switched on.

I always charge my phone in the evening before going to bed, would hate to think of appliances left on or charging during the night, ok the fridge/freezer but thats all. Oh sorry, my computer is always plugged in, but tv etc. not so.

Just my phone today. Toothbrush yesterday. I have got the airing cupboard but it’s only on for a short while thenI turn it off. Television on though.

We unplug tv and lamps from the wall overnight. Dont use standby.

I would never EVER leave a tumble drier on over night. Not only are they common causes of fires but also the TYPE of fire they cause escalates super quickly and makes escape less likely.

And there's no need. I managed to get my drying done at daytime back when I had 2 in cloth nappies at the same time. And with 2xschool uniforms plus 2 lots of work smarts plus all the household stuff. Even when we put up some rellies longish term as well as our own family the drier wasnt on overnight.

My local pub burnt down because of a phone charger but my smart phone wont be charged enough for the day in the morning if I unplug it at bedtime so I still reluctantly charge it overnight

Reading this, boy am I glad we don't have any mobile 'phones, or a Kindle, or anything else of that nature.
Only item to be plugged in here was the kettle for coffee.

Do you have the tv on all day as background noise? I have known someone like that and...well, the less said the better.
