when did life get so complex

I hate going into coffee shops with avengance due to the rigmarole involved. Now if i am out i go to a Weatherspoons for coffee, just put your mug under the spout on the machine and press the button of choice, simples, oh and yes you get a free refill if you want it.

I had a hell of a flight to Prague because I had to rest my feet on the so- called carry on sized case of the person sitting next to me which wouldn't go in the overhead locker and impinged on my space. Was too meek to complain. I find booking tickets and checking in at airports, trying to find departure gates etc nightmarish. Anyone else feel this way?

I remember the day when going out for a coffee was soooo simple!!!

Further to my earlier Ryanair rant, I've just tried packing the new bag I was intending to take free on board with me. After I'd fitted in all the essentials - toiletries, one very light pair of ballerina pumps, chargers, Kindle, sunglasses, reading glasses, titchy handbag, umbrella, underwear and socks, documents - I'd enough room left for a pair of leggings and one tunic top. So now I've given up and ended up shelling out for the new bag, priority boarding for DH on the way out so that he can take the usual wheelie on board (I shall be standing in the non-priority queue - I know my place), extra for the wheelie to be checked in on the way back because there's no priority boarding left on that flight, which of course you don't find that out until you're more than halfway through check-in .... And checking in online with all our different requirements was a proper rigmarole. Added to which the Ryanair site was down earlier this evening, which did my blood pressure no end of good. Travelling used to be fun, didn't it?

the Internet shopping made me laugh. Its so true. Deep breaths and keep calm is sometimes the way. Some of my passwords are a bit rude because I lost my patience!

Not quite accurate, Petunia, Lidl do three sorts of mayonnaise: normal, light and lighter than light. I always get the latter- only 10 cals per tablespoonful!

One of the reasons I like to shop at Lidl/Aldi is that if you want a jar of mayonnaise, you probably find two sorts. Normal mayonnaise and maybe low fat. Go to the big supermarkets and there are umpteen makes of mayonnaise, a myriad of sizes, and a dozen offers-30% extra free, BOGOF etc etc etc. I feel the life force slipping away from me as fumble in my bag for my glasses, peer at the price label and compare price per ml. Then I’m working out if I buy the massive jar that’s on offer and is ml for ml cheaper than a normal size, where the devil am I going to store it. But if I go with the tiny bottle that’s a similar price, think of the packaging. Moving onto the tuna and I could cry. Is it better to buy 4 own brand in a pack or 3 branded in a packet on offer.
My oh my, I feel like buying a bottle of gin on the way out, but there are 14 different brands and 6 offers to work through. And then I’d need tonic.....

Monica,,, Screwfix sell led bulbs, they are really good... Warm white or bright light pretty sure it was a box of 4 or 5 for £9.99 we replace ours well over a year ago and not had any problems with them..

My particular hate in the choice game is toothpaste. Haven't actually counted varieties as it would take too long but there are a lot.

Petunia Exactly the same for me yesterday so I decided to finish the packet quickly and not buy any more!

Just got a new washing machine, (today in fact.) I think flying an aeroplane would be easier than the instruction for a simple wash! There’s turbo this and eco that! I like the ones that did wash, rinse and spin with a temperature control if you were lucky. Wonder how long this one will last!

I thought I'd done well with my booking with Ryanair until it came to booking two seats together. First I chose DH's seat, click, done, then tried to book the vacant seat next to him for myself - in those two seconds the plane was full except for one seat about 11 rows back from him.
I booked that then phoned to see if I could have two seats together- yes, of course, that will be £40.
(no I didn't change them)

Thank goodness I wasn't travelling with a child.

I received my " proper " lightbulbs this morning and I'm thrilled. Never thought I'd be so excited over light bulbs !

Saggi sometimes I think you're right. Because choosing healthy food is complicated and does it make that much difference? £30 is quite a tight budget though.

It’s not complicated .... I have about £30 per week to spend on food....when it’s gone ..it’s gone! See...not complicated at all. Can’t afford to count calories or fat content! I survive on it and don’t have a weight problem. Too much fuss made about food and shopping.

To add to my troubles I enter a lot of competitions. So I also have to check which product has the comp on, and whether I need to keep the packaging and receipt.
