I do hope so, Artols. We’ve seen it on our news and it looks totally devastating. A terrifying situation.

“hope”

Good Morning from California. It’s just after 6am and still dark so I cannot see if the air is clearer this morning. Let’s hop so.....

Good morning from a sunny warm Portugal. I have actually made it here while it is still morning. Off to the doctors as I have an attack of costochondritis which is getting worse. Hopefully will have a course of painkilling injections so I can make my trip to England next week.

Just in time to say Good Morning. I miss work only in that I enjoyed saying good morning to everyone. Haven’t had any deliveries this morning so it’s been very quiet.

I had a persistent nuisance phone caller yesterday, obscene message at first then silent calls every few minutes. I had to disconnect the phone. Then I looked up BT and learned about Call Protect. Plugged the phone back in and it immediately rang, same silence. I dialled the number for Call Protect and blocked the caller. Brilliant and I went to bed much happier. Am I the only person who hadn’t heard of this service? I can block PIP type calls too. Can’t wait!

Lovely morning here in Leicestershire - going for a walk with friends this afternoon.

Good morning Mick and everyone. I hope that this post is received as last ones did not seem to appear.
We have been out in the beautiful sunshine to go the surgery to have our flu jabs.
I live in Warminster Wiltshire. Are there any other gransnetters who live nearby?
Enjoy the rest of your day.
My best wishes from Carole.

Yes beautiful sunrise here this am. Have painted the timber to repair the shed, and it's drying in the kitchen . Waiting for a gas engineer to fix my daughter's radiators. Then pickup DGD from school and see DD off to work.
If any spare time , fix timber on side of shed and pick up leaves and put them in the Hessian sacks I have bought.
Have a good day everyone!

Hi everyone,

I am loving this thread and the reports from all over the country.

We, too, had the glorious red sunrise in South Bucks and it has continued sunny. In fact the low, bright sun is like a Hollywood spotlight on the goldem, red, orange and yellow trees. Leafy Bucks is alight!

Good morning. I think I am always late to this. Depends on when I have my coffee. Another quilter here, in fits and starts. I am nudged to get on and finish the current project. I tend to run away on the quilt top and then slow down on putting it together. The border takes forever doesn’t? After this coffee I am off to put some soup on, the winter menu. Have a good day everyone.

Good morning from Conwy. The dog and I had a lovely walk on the beach this morning. It is extremely windy, but very mild. I have noticed on my walks by the beach that a number of flowers are having a second blooming, particularly Valerian and large Daisies.

Good Morning from Jesmond (Newcastle North). Dull but calm and mild here. Nice to know what other GNetters are doing. Going to pick up grandson (3) from Nursery later. I usually bake with him, but have to keep it fairly simple and healthy. Have hit upon the idea of slicing a pineapple (me) and letting him stamp shapes out with dinosaur biscuit cutters. We will grill them for dessert I think.

So, just found this thread and thought I would jump in. I am such a lazy so and so compared to folks here as I am still in bed! I am a night owl so was still reading at 2am and set my alarm for 9am but then snoozed for a while. I was enjoying my morning cup of coffee ( only have one cup a day) in bed with my iPad for company when I heard my lawn mowing man revving up outside. I shot out of bed, grabbed some money and ran to the patio door to pop it in the money pot outside before he reached the back lawn - still in my nightie! I really must phone him and say that the lawn does not need cutting again this year.

In a while I will take my painkillers and get dressed! I need to clean my bedroom ready for my new bed to arrive tomorrow ( any time after 7am so will be up early!) then off to take Mum ( 86 yrs old with Alzeimers ) for lunch which will be interesting as I try not to laugh at some of her tales, then straight to my sisters house to give my nephew his tea and take him swimming while she works a late shift. Finally I have my only evening at home this week so I will catch up on some TV programmes.

Have a good day everyone.

Fairly bright and a little breezy here in Devon. Trying to get DH to chop some wood, says yes but doesn't actually do it. Changing sheets and dusting bedroom for me. Going to see a band this evening with friends.

Mick or 12Michael to give him his proper name (!) is the kind person who first started these threads as a friendly start to the day, perhaps an overview of weather in the various parts of the country and our plans for the day.
He is pretty prompt at 6.30 but if he is late we know that he has been on the razzle ! grin

Nanny41 Wed 14-Nov-18 10:10:13

The monsoon is upon Aberdeenshire this morning so garden tidy has been cancelled. Like millymouge, I shall sort out some quilting, maybe attack some unfinished projects. Ceramics class tonight.
