Good Morning Monday

Morning Nina, Annie and all. Hope Mick has enjoyed his short break.
Sun is out and it’s a bit breezy, from the looks of the trees moving around, but the first lot of washing is in and will be going out soon. I was up and showered earlier than I needed to be, as I thought my appointment, this morning, was for 10.00 am. On checking, it’s not until 12.40, so have a bit of time for GN.
Hope to finish my jumper that I am knitting, today. Then it’s the sewing up. Not keen on that.

Morning all! From the sunny Borders. I found it hard to get up today after a brilliant but sad concert last night. Washing, cleaning and, garden chores today . Maybe pick up my knitting.

Good morning from a tropical Aberdeenshire! The mist is rising off the river and there is a roe deer browsing in the forest. The sun is ablaze. Had a fun weekend with a soup and pud event on Saturday lunchtime followed by a beetle drive in the evening. Never mind fine dining and the casino! Am off to hang out the first load of washing.

Good morning all from a sunny Birmingham. Awake at 5.45 again- I think I still haven’t adjusted to the clock change! I’ve had a frustrating morning trying to track a pair of boots I bought from the Pikolinos online store. UPS seem to have them somewhere in Tamworth, but have told me I need to contact Pikolinos in Spain so they can investigate, even though their own tracking system shows that they arrived in Tamworth last Thursday. I’m waiting to speak to a UPS manager.
Shopping today for a new phone. I’ve got my dander up now, so I shan’t be letting any phone salesman convince me I need a more expensive model than I want. Grrr.

Morning everyone from sunny North Cambridgeshire where I’m still convalescing on my eldest daughter’s farm. By the sound of it, I’m glad I’m not back home in Kent yet, Nina! Weather seems better here!

Good morning from France. Oh dear...... I fear you will all be rather cross and envious when I keep on writing day after day that we are bathed in brilliant sunshine. Have been out in the garden raking up beautiful orange-coloured fallen leaves. Lausanne, opposite us on the CH side, is also bathed in golden light. The Lake is sparkling. Wish you were all here

I am loving this 'Good Morning' thread. It poured this morning in South Bucks but now it is mild with blazing sunshine. The DH and I have had our morning constitutional walking round the village circuit and admiring the spectacular autumn colours. I am trying to do some Christmas visit planning and finding that half of the weekends ahead are already taken. Goodness me!

Surely this feed is not a topic of discussion,all this good morning business is a bit much,It makes the discussion like a church coffee morning. Please keep to the normal format.

GillyEB the thread is called "Good Morning......" for a reason and has a set of regular posters. Others never post on this thread which of course is their choice. I never post on the politics thread, my choice.
This thread has been posted daily for as long as I can remember. If you don't like it, don't open it. There are plenty of other threads to read. I really can't see how it's "spoiling the forum"

Well said Nina. There are a lot of newcomers on here who “get it” and are very welcome. Obviously some don’t so they stay away and choose not to be rude to those who do!

Mick started and has run this thread for as long as I can remember and it seems perfectly harmless, friendly and a pleasant start to the day.
Plus it is actually interesting to hear what the weather is doing all over the country! Perhaps I need to get out more?

What's ruffled your feathers, GillyEB? If you dislike this thread, don't bother with it, is the simple answer to you. It's been the way you describe it for years. I take it you are a new poster. We always discuss the weather ( didn't you know it's a British tradition ??). So, no, we won't be changing what we do just to please you.
Oh, by the way, it's a lovely, sunny afternoon here. Chilly though. ??

For those of us who are new to the “Good Morning” thread, I think it’s been slightly confusing as it appears in our email link as a “Top Thread”. Maybe that’s what MawBroon is thinking.
I don’t understand why it’s suddenly become a Top Thread this last week or so and had assumed it was a new idea thought up by GransNet central!

I have started laying in foodstuffs that will keep, extra cat food, coffee, washing up liquid and toilet paper with Christmas in mind. I have also started buying presents, because the right thing for DH nearly bit me on the nose.

I refuse to start decorating or baking until after my birthday at the end of this month, but shall start the thorough Christmas cleaning soon. Right now DH and I are building an outdoor Nativity scene for the front garden and a small one that our bonus GC can finish themselves next weekend when the come with their mother.

Today's chore was the washing (well it is Monday) so I shall see you all on the other side of the Mulberry Bush.

For all of you people who are up by 6 o’clock, my husband tells me that you all must be in bed by 9.30 because I moan at him that he’s never up by 7 o’clock
Would you like to confirm or deny that please. I hope I am vindicated ?

123 Coco: My mother, who is 90, wakes at 9, my brother takes her a cup of tea, but then she doesn’t get up until 11. Her neighbour, 85, always boasts that she is up by 6 and has finished her housework by 8. She goes to bed at 9. My mother, who goes to bed at midnight, can’t understand why her neighbour feels so virtuous.

Unlike some, I really like this thread, only problem being, that by the time I get to it most of you are in the late afternoon! We still have the smoky atmosphere here from the fire(s), so the sun looks quite strange as it comes up each morning, a red glow through the smoke. Instead of saying Good Morning to everyone, maybe I should say Good Afternoon!

Whether you say “Good Morning” or “Good Afternoon” Artols we are happy to have you here! Very sad, what you are all going through over there.?
