Drizzle here in the N/West though forecast is for "cloudy". Oh dear, loads of washing to go out, after having a visitor for a few days. Heigh ho, some washing into the dryer and it's onto the laundry airer for the rest....

NanKate Tue 06-Nov-18 10:18:47

I suggest Mick your suggestion of Nina to start if she is up for it as I will have a 5 and 7 year old bouncing in bed with me this weekend and I will be on survival mode. Happy to do it another time.

Sorry about your hands Mary| it must be so miserable. Take care my friend.

Sun breaking through and mild in north Cambridgeshire where I’m convalescing on my eldest daughter’s farm, after a week in hospital to rebalance sodium levels. Never knew we needed a certain amount of sodium, but when mine dropped and I passed out fortunately my youngest daughter was staying and went into action. Thanks family for all your help and support! It’s good to be alive!

Good morning all.
It's a grey, dismal morning - so typical for the morning after bonfire night. There were lots of fireworks last night. (Actually there have been lots of them since about last Wednesday, but last night saw the most).
I feel sorry for the animals who won't understand what on earth is going on.
Sounds as if you had a nice time Mick, and a repeat performance this coming weekend - I can't fault you! Hope you enjoy it.
Fingers crossed Marydoll that the electrician turns up as promised on Thursday, and sorts out the problem that is causing your appliances to blow.
Hope everyone has a good day. ?

Good morning Mick, Annie, and all others. It’s grey and damp underfoot here, but it is mild. I shall try and get to my volunteering this afternoon. I do miss it when I can’t go. Nothing much else planned, but hospital this morning, and later I shall try and finish the sleeves of a jumper I am knitting. Enjoy your day one and all.

kittylester Tue 06-Nov-18 08:54:02

Maybe one of them would be better or we could get double threads again. You are actually indispensable Mick.

Good morning to you all.
Grey and unusually muggy for November.
Another day at the hospital. Very muggy there, too. T-shirt weather!

harrigran Tue 06-Nov-18 08:14:46

Good morning from a grey but mild NE.
No appointments today so will do shopping.
Fireworks were very noisy last night, why do they all have to sound like depth charges ?

Good morning all from Northampton where the sun is trying to peep through. Think it's going to be a nice day, so have got some washing on the go. Managed to cut the grass yesterday for hopefully the last time this year.

Looks like you had a good weekend Mick.

Off to our neighbours' coffee morning today. Most of us have lived in the close since the early 90s and meet in each other's houses about once a month for cake, coffee and chat. A coup!e have moved, but still meet up.

Good morning from sunny Colchester. Very warm again here. Into town for an eye test this afternoon. May have to fork out for new specs.

Marydoll Tue 06-Nov-18 08:03:04

Good morning all from a damp Glasgow with a hint of sun behind the clouds.
Waiting in for the new microwave, whilst DH goes for a haircut. On his return, I'm off to pick up a click and collect. I ordered it on Sunday afternoon and it was delivered yesterday. That's what I call service. It's a pair of purple boots, which I have been searching for the last few winters. smile I do love purple.
The pain in my hands has been excruciating, so little sleep to be had in this house last night. I may be forced to have a lazy day, not had one since the builders started! grin.
The electrician is coming on Thursday and the kitchen will be FINISHED!!!
I'm glad you had a great weekend Mick. Lucky you with another one to look forward to.
Have a pleasant day, everyone.

loopyloo Tue 06-Nov-18 07:58:52

Morning everyone. Bliss! I have a completely free day today. I hope the weather is like yesterday as have lots to do in the garden. And lots of tidying up in the house.

kittylester Tue 06-Nov-18 07:55:18

Morning all from a misty North Leicestershire.

Good to see you back Mick and pleased you had a good time.

Please nominate someone to start the thread while you are away. Can I suggest nina? If she's happy of course! She is always up with the lark!

Kate keep your head down.grin

We had a super day yesterday with Wolfie and his family and this morning I am meeting a fellow gransnetter at the garden centre!

Enjoy your days everyone!

Nana3 Tue 06-Nov-18 07:53:15

Good morning everyone. Some pink some grey sky in Lancashire, still mild.
I have WI committee meeting today NanKate, I only have a small role though. We do our utmost to make sure there's something that interests everyone, I'm in the reading, walking and gardening groups.
Take care NfkD
Have a good day all.

Good morning everyone . Glad you had a good trip Mick.

School runs then “that place” for me . Nothing changes very much . Hoping I can get there on the dribble of petrol I’ve got in the tank after much running around last night . hmm

Greyduster Tue 06-Nov-18 07:42:06

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Grey, misty and rather cold in South Yorkshire. DH has an appointment with the dental hygienist this morning. It’s rather brutal and he hates it, so he will feel rather sorry for himself for the rest of the day. And he has to go through it again on Friday when she does the other half of his mouth. Second school run this afternoon. Glad you enjoyed your weekend Mick. Make the most of these jaunts - it’s a long winter!

Gagagran Tue 06-Nov-18 07:41:20

Good morning Mick and everyone. Glad you enjoyed the Isle of Wight Mick- we did too on our recent GN competition prize weekend break there. Loved Osborne House gardens and grounds but not the inside of the house. In fact felt claustrophobic in there and had to escape!

It's a quiet, calm, silvery-grey sort of sky here on the south coast and still mild for November.

The pavement outside got its top coat of tarmac yesterday. Just the road to finish now and apparently there is a big gas main causing problems which will need moving. Doubt it is going to be finished by the published completion date of 23 November.

Hope the day is a good one for us all. sunshine

NannyJan53 Tue 06-Nov-18 07:38:35

Good Morning all from a very mild Black Country.

Sounds like a very enjoyable weekend Mick glad you enjoyed it.

I am meeting friends in Birmingham today for lunch, and whilst there may make a start on buying Christmas Cards grin

Have a good day everyone.

cornergran Tue 06-Nov-18 07:36:26

All sounds good mick, must be 20 years since we last visited the IoW. Used to be a regular day trip on the hovercraft from Southsea.

travelsafar Tue 06-Nov-18 07:36:25

Morning all, a grey damp chilly start to the day here in Letchworth. Out to meet up with some friends for coffee then off to Sainsbury's to get my double up points on the Nectar card and pick up a couple of items earmarked to use the voucher on. Not much else to do really for the rest of the day.

cornergran Tue 06-Nov-18 07:34:17

Morning Mick, morning All. Gloomy start outside and in to our corner of Somerset. Off to a coffee morning then a bit of loft tidying today. Take care on (or off) the boat nfk, sounds challenging. Wishing you well at the dentist aggie, not my favourite event. Hope Tuesday is kind to everyone.

12Michael Tue 06-Nov-18 07:30:39

This coming weekends intinary , is Torquay on the Saturday ,and Plymouth on the Sunday, which could be interesting as its remembrance Sunday, as to what time we arrive.
Have my own plans on the Saturday using a local bus route.
This last Sunday I used a local bus on IOW and it was a very frequent service as well, the Norton Grange where I was based looked out on the Solent, with chalets it was a different feel.
trips around the island on Saturday last, and Sunday morning was a trip to Osborne House with the weather being cloudy , looking across to Portsmouth was a nice sharp view from the gardens at the back.
