Is it just me?

Since my cats worked out how to open the doors inside the house and get into the alarmed rooms, there seems little point in setting the alarm...

Alarm and CCTV all around outside of house.

We are 3 houses together and either side have been burgled and had car stolen off of drive.

Always set the alarm.

No alarm here, had one in the last house which was installed post burglary as apparently many are. We are considering CCTV, still a long way to go in the thinking process though.

We also live in a village stree albeit a large one. 3 of our immediate neighbours have been burgled recently. I'm still fighting against having an alarm or CCTV put in as our house has the advantage of not looking straight forward and there are other houses that would appear simpler - hopefully.

We find the CCTV more useful than the alarm, with cameras covering back and front and a video record of anyone approaching the property.

No alarm here. Never had one. Not many at all in the village.
We used to live in East Leeds and most nights at least one alarm would be going on all night, plus multiple car alarms.
I suppose it goes with the territory, heavily populated places getting more crimes per square mile.

Someone tried to pinch a pony from a field next to the village a couple of years ago, only got about 30 yards and numerous villagers knew it wasn`t that persons pony and detained them until police arrived.
Thankfully alarms are not a neccessity here.

Our alarm was installed by previous owners. We rarely think to use it. I suppose we should try and be more proactive but it would mean shifting coats and boxes of outdoor wear so doubt it will get done anytime soon!

We need new batteries for ours, but have to get the firm to change them! Haven't bothered.

Be grateful you remember, Oldwoman I keep walking down the stairs and walk straight into the kitchen, forgetting to turn it off. Drives DH mad.
We have just got ours replaced after twenty five years and I still can't get the hang of the new one..
