Been awake since about 5 - seeing a consultant today about the scans I had on a Tuesday, following some post-menopausal bleeding.

gillybob... about 4 yrs ago, I started having the most terrible periods.... flooding (wearing 5 pads at once). It was for that reason that I was referred to the hospital (within 2 weeks) and had all the biopsies, scans, internals, over the 4 years. I did have a period a few weeks ago, for 4 days, but I haven't told the GP as I cannot bear the thought of all that rigmarole again.

I’m the same Lynne59 (I’m 56) have had (painful) biopsies taken a few times, thankfully clear but like you I have thickening of the womb. Still having periods although they are quite erratic and annoying as I’m never sure if or when .

So pleased all went well for your polly smile

Lynne59 Fri 19-Oct-18 17:16:08

I'm sure you'll be fine, Polly. I've had 5 of those biopsies done (incredibly painful I thought), as I too have endometrial thickening. I'm 59 but haven't yet gone through the menopause!

What we women have to put up with! Best of luck x

Sounds positive .polly

You’ve got my measure, Nonnie! I’m going to try and be calm about waiting. Mindfulness was invented for someone like me, but I never could master it!

Nonnie Fri 19-Oct-18 15:12:37

That sounds reassuring but I am sure you will still be concerned until you get the final results.

Polly48 Fri 19-Oct-18 13:36:10

*Iight? I might!

Polly48 Fri 19-Oct-18 13:35:03

Thanks PamelaJ1 - yes, the doc said Iight get recalled if the cells she’d taken weren’t sufficient.

Mapleleaf Fri 19-Oct-18 13:34:36

Good to hear your news polly48. Try to relax for the rest of today and try not to get too anxious waiting for the results. ?

PamelaJ1 Fri 19-Oct-18 13:20:12

I thought you were getting results today but you’ll still have a bit of a wait.
Don’t get too worried if they call you back for an ultra sound or further tests. I had to return twice and all was still fine.

Brunette10 Fri 19-Oct-18 13:19:02

Polly48 - good news then, I'm sure everything will turn out fine. Nice to have great support though, it always helps. Look after yourself.

Polly48 Fri 19-Oct-18 13:04:40

Thanks - yes I surprised myself by how anxious I’ve been - I was in a car accident years ago and I felt like that / really shaky and nauseous. I suppose we all like to be in control.

Nandalot Fri 19-Oct-18 13:01:07

Glad things are looking more positive. Have a treat this afternoon.

morethan2 Fri 19-Oct-18 12:38:21

I’m glad you’ve been reassured polly a nice brew and put your feet up for the rest of the day. Apprehension horrible isn’t it?

kittylester Fri 19-Oct-18 12:34:23

Thank you for letting us know Polly, let us know the next results too!

Polly48 Fri 19-Oct-18 12:31:52

Just back from Hosp - lovely female Indian doc. She took a biopsy (painful!) and I’ll know more in about 2 weeks - but she said she wasn’t overly concerned. Womb lining a bit thick (6), but not problematic (up to 10). So feel less worried. Thank you for your good wishes - it helped! X

Good luck polly-mine turned out to be fibroids and quickly:easily removed. Let us know how it goes.

Nonnie Fri 19-Oct-18 10:40:25

Good luck, Polly. ????

henetha Fri 19-Oct-18 10:02:30

The waiting is the worst bit. Mine turned out to be polyps and I had a D&C. (don't know if they still do these).
Lots and lots of good luck.

Scribbles Fri 19-Oct-18 09:59:39
