I wonder if I might ask for a handhold please my lovely grandson was born with a very serious heart condition and although he has grown up very well a huge overwhelming infection has overtaken him stemming from a heart valve and today he has had to have an eye removed due to this infection. He is the light of our life and more poor son is understandably totally distraught and I am so afraid we will lose him please could you pray for him the next few days will show how things are going to be thank you so much

Canarygirl1, that is just the best news. Well done to the little fellow, his parents and GP’s, and of course the medical staff. Here’s hoping that you all have the very best of birthday celebrations.

Thank you for that update - aren't children wonderful in the way they bounce back? I do hope he goes from strength to strength.

hi a final update to let you know that the lovely consultant and his team gave us wonderful news today. It seems the infection in his heart has been killed and will only need 2 more weeks of infused antibiotics and the damage caused is classed as mild. The non eye is being a bit of a pest but steriods today should sort that in a few days and if all goes well he can come home in two weeks just in tome for his sisters and my birthdays, some celebrations then I think. Thank you so much for all your thought, prayers and kind words. I hope those of you who have worry and sadness in your lives will find some peace from all these lovely ladies here

Canarygirl, such good news, and to have the happy thoughts that he may well be home in a month's time. Tiny children are so resilient, and just get on with whatever life throws at them. Continuing prayers for all the family.

Well here we are at the end of a very long day. He is out of theatre and everything seems to have gone well and they did all they wanted. We are so very lucky to still have him and I cannot thank you enough for all your kind thoughts Hopefully we should have him home this time next month and I am off to bed as totally shattered.
