Boys and noises!

Yup, that’s right. And stupid faces. And flinging their bodies around risking life and limb.

And crude jokes involving bodily functions accompanied by relevant noises.

There’s more and worse to come.

Good thing we love them.

Oldest DGS makes all sorts of odd noises/sound effects when playing. He also likes to narrate the story as he's playing. Flipping annoying at times.

Well that's a relief!
I remember his brother doing the weird movements and faces, now you mention it.

GS, 11, has a whole catalogue of strange noises we have to endure ?. My son was much the same and his strange noises eventually gravitated into his hilarious talent for mimicry.

And mild hysteria at ‘rude’ words like bum and poo!?

I had only girls and heartily disliked little boys with their King-of-the-Castle boasting, silly walks and faces and noises.
After lots of granddaughters a grandson appeared. He is quiet, shy, loving and adorable and has none of those irritating features.
So it’s not inevitable. Those boys so afflicted can have it beaten out of them if their parents are given a hard stare to make them aware of how much other people dislike it.

Definitely a boy thing, don't worry. Yes the rude jokes are a rite of passage as well. I remember my grandson going into hysterics when a bra was described as an over shoulder boulder holder.

Oh I’m relieved to hear it. After two daughters and two DGDs , I was introduced into an unknown world of little boys. Just the one, in fact, but it was a bit of a culture shock. The noises are often throaty and accompanied by wild gesticulations. And the energy! Oh my goodness, he leaps about everywhere and is never still. But he’s very sweet and loving and totally lacking in the feminine wiles of his girl cousins. Angelic when asleep.

I'm still rather partial to rude words and noises myself.
The boys and me used to drive his mum mad with our childish behaviour.
The more indignant she got, the more we struggled to keep straight faces.

17 year old grandson still does ?? I don’t think they grow out of it ever we ll be sitting quietly and suddenly there’s loud (very loud as he’s built like a wotsit) whooping zooming wheeling noises coming from the other room When he arrives home it’s a bit like a cross between Brian Bkessed (voice) and David Bellamy (arms) barging in You certainly notice it when he s not there oh yes add to that the rap music yes the house is very quite ( and dare I say boring) when he’s away But I still get picked up or engulfed in big hugs and a kiss so I m not complaining

Our DGS aged 6 is a revelation to us, we had two daughters. He can be playing quietly and suddenly emits whooping noises, quite startling. His latest thing is blowing raspberries on his arm and making loud farting noises. My ears aren’t that good, god knows what it sounds like with good ears. My favourite noise is hearing him in fits of giggles, nectar.

We were out somewhere today and there was more than one school group - looking round the museum there were several boys making strange noises and being told off by their teacher.
They were teenagers, not little ones. The girls, of course, were listening and studiously looking at the exhibits .

Yes, DS used to do that, hope he has grown out of it now
