It was the old original TV lines black & white and colour before digital.
I have a TV which does depending on the channel I select or programme the screen picture changes for example last night an early Dads Army on what would have been Black and white in 465 lines , others like Top of the Pops in colour show a 625 lines

Nowadays we are supposed to think in 'pixels'
hmm

Hasn't a new tv been unveiled with more pixels than ever?

So how many people know the difference between 925 and 375?

Yes Mick, I remember a TV we had when we first married, which had a little switch at the bottom so it could be switched between 465 for ITV and BBC, and 625 if we wanted to watch BBC2!
Gosh, hard to imagine only having 3 channels to choose from, with all of them shutting down at, what was at, 11.30pm? Can't remember exactly. I do remember nodding off in the armchair, and then waking up to that weird high-pitched sound the TV made when broadcasting had shut down for the night! And the little bright dot in the middle of the black screen smile

It was actually 405 lines...

Apparently it was the horizontal lines across the screen - the 625 came in later when colour started. This according to the tech guru in the other room grin
