Lilypops, yes Fidget pie is made with a shortcrust pastry case, filled with ham/pork, apples, cheese and cider, topped with mustard mash. It is a dish of left overs really, so that is what we are having tonight. I saw it on a re-run of Escape to the Country, and thought, I can do that. We'll see later on. I believe The Hairy Bikers have a recipe.
Stargazy pie is made with, I think pilchards, and is a Cornish dish.

I think fidget pie is made with pork, bacon, apples and cider.
Dull here in Birmingham, but I am catching up with washing and paperwork, and doing my Italian homework for this afternoon ( my mother used to call me “last- minute- Annie”.) looking forward to Italian group this afternoon, but keep getting sidetracked by the book I am reading “The Long Take” by Robin Robertson. Absolutely riveting!

Yes, annsixty, I think you are right, in which case, I don't know what fidgety pie is. ??

Good morning. Dull weather in Lancashire. I am going to a funeral today, very sad occasion.
Enjoy your day everyone, make the most of it if you can.
Thoughts for morethan and family (((hugs))).

Gagagran Tue 02-Oct-18 09:09:12

Lilypops you can read about morethan and the terrible time she and her family are having on the Health thread "Scared she's not coming home".

Lilypops Tue 02-Oct-18 09:02:04

Can I ask about Morethan, I must have missed her post but you all have been thinking a lot about her and her family, although I don't know about her it seems very sad ,Can you enlighten me please,, Thankyou

annsixty Tue 02-Oct-18 08:52:09

Good morning all.
Isn't that Starrygazy pie Mapleleaf?
It's a long time since I bought any Fidgets.
I am shattered this morning, H has been awake roaming the house most of the night so, like us all have had morethan and her family on my mind a lot.

harrigran Tue 02-Oct-18 08:46:49

Good morning, it is bright but very windy and has been gale force all night.
My thoughts are for morethan and her family.

Mapleleaf Tue 02-Oct-18 08:40:58

Good morning,

It's dry and very blustery here this morning. Yes, it did rain heavily last night, greyduster, as I was coming away from a meeting at 9pm, it was pouring.

Hope the fidget pie goes well, Auntyflo - is that the pie that has mackerel heads pointing out of the pastry, or have I got that completely wrong?! ?

Alygran Tue 02-Oct-18 08:37:50

Good morning from a very breezy North Yorkshire. Off to meet a former work colleague for lunch today then a bit of mowing if the grass dries after last night’s rain.
Thinking of morethan and her family and all the others caring for loved ones. I hope your day is not too difficult and something makes you smile.

ginny Tue 02-Oct-18 08:20:59

Good morning.
It’s grey here in N. Bucks as well.
Meeting a couple of friends for lunch. I must finish preparing the project for craft club and think about a celebration cake that I have to make for Friday.
Need to have a clear up in the garden but that will have to wait.

Lilypops Tue 02-Oct-18 08:20:44

Auntie Flo, what is fidget pie, can I buy Fidgets from Sainsbury,s or would Tesco be a better bet !!

Lilypops Tue 02-Oct-18 08:19:31

Morning everyone from a dark dank day on the Wirral, going to the garden centre for more wallflowers this morning, then some ironing, then meeting a friend for coffee and catch up chat this afternoon, Hope you all have a good day ,

aggie Tue 02-Oct-18 08:11:14

Good morning , another grey one . Prayers for Morethan , and all her family

Auntieflo Tue 02-Oct-18 08:08:27

Morning Mick, Annie to come and especially holding Morethan and her family in my heart.
It is a laundry morning , then volunteering this afternoon.
I am going to try and make 'Fidget pie', before I go out, wish me luck, as my muffins last week were a disaster.
To all, have a good day.

Greyduster Tue 02-Oct-18 08:05:04

Good morning Michael and all GNs. We must have had some rain during the night but it is dry at the moment. A stay at home day today. Have a good day folks.

Pittcity Tue 02-Oct-18 07:57:46

Good morning from a grey skied Colchester. We've had a bit of overnight rain which the garden is grateful for. Why can't rain stick to night time?
A leisurely day today of bits and bobs.

ninathenana Tue 02-Oct-18 07:47:59

Good morning

from a dull grey Kent. Usual Tuesday, drop DH at gardening job and go food shopping and coffee till time to pick everyon
Have a good day everyone.

oldgoat Tue 02-Oct-18 07:25:53

Morning all.
There's a lovely bright sunrise in York this morning but it's very windy and the clouds are chasing across the sky.
A busy day planned with a talk this afternoon from a chocolatier (with samples to taste!!) Then off to a demonstration of how to plant hanging baskets for winter, with some WI friends.
My thoughts are with all Grans and their families who have terrible sadness in their lives.

Brunette10 Tue 02-Oct-18 07:23:34

Morning everyone so for and to all those who follow. Its, peaceful here in Fife, no wind, no rain, think it may be a nice day. Like many I too have been thinking of Morethan. Can't put myself in this position. Hope she finds strength to pull through this sad sad scenario. Have docs this morning re my very sore finger but puts everything into perspective when there are so many others with such troubles. Brunette

Marydoll Tue 02-Oct-18 07:22:03

Good morning all. I'm later today, recovering from the whirlwind (DGD) yesterday. New kitchen ordered while she made a den under one of the desks in the kitchen installers. She was an absolute star, thanks to some chocolate raisins. More chaos ahead of us, as DH starts ripping out the kitchen
I too cannot stop thinking of Morethan and her terrible situation. My own wee DIL is like my own daughter and I can't imagine how I would cope if it happened to our family.
A catching up day today.
Enjoy all your activities today everyone.

NanKate Tue 02-Oct-18 07:20:21

And morning to you Gaga. Glad you managed to assemble your new suite. Hope it is comfy to sit in.

gillybob Tue 02-Oct-18 07:12:49

I think we are all In need of some good news today .

Morning Mick, morning All. Cloudy start for us, no frost. Off out with some friends so a busy day ahead. Been awake since 5, no hope for me. Also thinking about morethan and her family. Onwards with the day, hope I stay awake.

Gagagran Tue 02-Oct-18 07:03:53

Morning NanKate and Willow!
