Last week I went for lunch with my sister in law and had a lovely time with lovely food. It got me thinking about some other lunches I have had in the past.
The worst I think was when I was about 20, I worked for a company which insisted that employees had lunch with the partners on a rotation basis. I found myself sitting between two partners who didn't speak to me at all and talked to each other (about cricket), the food wasn't that good either.
When my turn came round again I refused to attend. When others heard they also started to refuse - the custom was dropped soon after
